What I shall do, is call in an adjudicator for questions 1) and 5), so step forward please Mark James.
These are the answers I have : Northern Ireland's Ten highest Peaks : (all except one in County Down) 1. Slieve Donard (852m), 2. Slieve Commedagh (767m), 3. Slieve Bearnagh (730m), 4. Slieve Mael Beg (704m), 5. Slieve Lamagan (703m), 6. Slieve Binnian (685m), 7. Slieve Mael Mor (682m), 8. Sawel Mountain (Tyrone)(678m), 9. Shan Slieve (671m), 10. Slieve Muck (668m).
5. Most northerly point in Northern Ireland: Benbane Head, Moyle, Antrim Most westerly point in Northern Ireland: Cornaglah, Fermanagh Most southerly point in Northern Ireland: Cranfield Point, Newry and Mourne, Down Most easterly point in Northern Ireland: Townhead, Ards Peninsula, Down.
Note for adjudicator : Mark, I rather suspect that I am guilty in an inadequate wording and should have asked for the mainland extremities. However, when speaking of the westernmost point of England, most people would say Lands End and not some point in the Scilly Isles. If Wolfman turns out to be right he gets the points, and I think I can also be generous in allowing some points to the adjudicator !
Thanks, tommo

Okay, Mark has declined to adjudicate on the basis that the question is of such a technical nature that local knowledge would not have a bearing and the solution can only be found by reference/research. So it’s down to poor old tommo ! ::) So for Question 1) on the peaks, tommo’s reference book is ramificated by what is said on Wikepedia – as well as on various other sites. There is a possible disagreement on the order for Slieve Binnian and Slieve Muck, which some lists show as higher up, but the general consensus is that the ten highest are as I listed previously. 4 points have already been awarded to Wolfman for those he mentioned. The other six which he named do exist, but are not of sufficient elevation. Cuilcagh Mountain at 665m almost makes it on to the list but not quite, so I’ll give a further 0.5 for that one. As regards Question 5) I have suddenly twigged that Wolfman has given the N, S, E & W extremities of the whole of Ireland: Tearaght Island is 12.5 km west of the Dingle Peninsula; Fastnet Rock is 11.3km south of County Cork; and Inishtrahull Island is 7km north of the Inishtrahull Peninsular of County Donegal, which though the Northernmost point of Ireland is also part of the Republic. The only one that comes close to satisfying the answer of this quiz on Northern Ireland is Big Bow Meel Island, which lies 900 metres off the Ards Peninsula as per map. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ards_PeninsulaIt will be seen that this is the most easterly point of Northern Ireland, however and not the northernmost (as requested in 5a) so I’ll award 0.5 for that one too. Quiz ended: Wolfman 39pts
