Open Doubles@ The Plough Jean & Alan Brackenridge 2-0 Dave Knight & Ric Bithell
4030 - 2440 2330 - 1990 Alan broke in the first game but struggled with the table, as did the rest of us, until Jean made a modest break which was enough to win it. Dave broke in the second leg but broke down on the one-up. Both sides found it hard going but Jean and Alan just did enough to win.

Mixed Doubles@ HHSC Jean & Alan Brackenridge 2-1 Ros Appleby & Chase Newman 1660 - 2410 3750 - 3300 4970 - 2860 Ros broke in the first leg but unfortunately put four down. Jean couldn't take advantage though and both sides struggled with a slow-paced table, until Chase made a winning break at the end. Jean broke in the second, but again couldn't make much progress. It was another low scoring game, but Jean finally got a break going which was enough to take the leg. The third leg was another struggle, until Alan put together a good break to secure the match.

Congratulations to the New Oak for winning the Team Cup and also completing the Treble having also won the League and League Cup this season.
Some closely fought games during the evening, with Mike winning the decider against Jim to take the win for his team. I am sure Jean will add the scores later.
Many thanks to Haywards Heath Social Club for hosting the evening.

Sprackling Cup Final
Derek Taylor 2 Alan Brackenridge 1
4840* - 4,470 Chances for both in this game with a couple of breaks each, Alan just falling short at the end of the game.
70 - 9,750* A lovely 8k opener from Alan to give Derek no chance and level the match.
9,240* - 6,540 Derek won the toss and went in with an excellent break of 9,240 to set Alan a tough chase. Alan started well and had to pull the bar again at the end of the game. The chase was definitely on and Alan looked very solid before going slightly out of position around the 50 hole and coming off at the back of the table leaving Derek as a deserved winner.

Ladies Singles Final
Jean Brackenridge 2 Jan Bithell 0
11,360* - 1,270 Jean opened with about 2.5k but first to get them back and make sure with 7k. Jan lost a 2k break and both had small breaks towards the end.
5,800 - 4,650* A good start from Jan, both then had chances with breaks but Jean got the balls back a couple of minutes before the end to take the win.

Men's Singles Final
Colin Southouse 2 Ric Bithell 1
4,590 - 8,830* Chances for both with Ric taking the first leg with a good break of 4.9k towards the end.
6,360* - 4,830 Chances again in this game, Colin building an early lead and the balls then stayed at the back of the table in awkward places. Ric eventually got the break back but ran out of time.
9,780 - 3,290* An entertaining leg to watch! Ric won the toss and went first, only to miss an early 50 pot and come off on 600. Colin missed a split on 1.8k and they both had the break back a couple of times only to come off again quickly. Colin eventually built a match winning 7k break although with the bar down he nearly lost the game by putting the break down 4 times just missing the inside of the left hand 50 hole after catching the one up too thick!
Congratulations to Colin on his win, thanks to Kevin Stoner for scoring this leg and to the Stags Head for hosting the evening.
Nice to see Huw and Liz there from the Socialites team to support the evening.
