Just sixteen players have entered this league. However, the good news is that five are new or returning to the game, which bodes well for the future.
Playing at three venues in four divisions, four players in each.
Matches played at Mariners Inn
Norman Wilkinson 3810 3 Claire Gauvin 320 0 Claire couldn't seem to keep any scores and pegs were flying in all directions tonight.
Luke Bush 4700 3 Paul Regan 2960 0 New player Paul, having made his debut in the Guernsey Open made a good start and was unlucky not to come away with a point, losing many scores through inexperience. He will get better and needs more table time.
Carla Allen 1010 0 Craig Harvey 3 2450 New player Craig on his debut, showed a lot of good touches and will be a player to be reckoned with in the future.

To explain further how this summer league is going to work. Another good idea from our President Darren Ogier which will keep the game alive and bring in new players. The four groups of four players will play each other twice. Break each. Point per win and point for the aggregate win. When that round is finished the players will go into another league so the better players get to compete against each other and the new players of lesser ability will play each other. That means all four first-placed players in the first round will then compete in the next round * * Correction - A knockout round, graded by final league positions.

Group 1 Ian Champion Leads this group as the island player sits on 9 points, this is a tight group though with Leon Ogier on 6 and both Wilcox and Steve Carre on 3. In the match of the season so far Matt lost 3-0 to Ian Champion. Matt score 4240 and 4970 however Ian responded with 6180 and 5950.
Group 2 Leader Is Geoff Ogier has 9 points, Ogier’s latest win came against another newcomer Kyran Perkins who inadvertently committed a foul. This allowed Ogier back onto the table who used his experience to close up the game and come away with all 3 points. Norman Wilkinson is only 1 point behind and looks as he dropped a point against the vastly improved Claire Gauvain. Group 3 Luke Bush, last season’s Division 2 champion has continued to show good form and enable him to dominate his Group in this years summer league. He currently leads his group with 11 points from a possible 12. In the latest set of games he has beaten both Paul Regan and Carla Allen 3-0 who sit 3rd and 4th respectively. Newcomer Craig Harvey is currently lying second on 7 points after a 3-0 win over Carla Allen. Group 4 Another promising newcomer to the bar Billiard scene is Bob Mc Kenzie who has hit the ground running when he beat Steve Le Gallez with a score of 2290 – 1360 over both games to take all 3 points. Bob Sits on 5 points just 1 point behind Chris Bourgaize. There has been a slight change into group 4 with Adrian Bush replacing Bob Hall. Adrian now has to catch up on missed games. This group is likely to see some changes in league positions in the coming weeks.

Claire Gauvin takes a point off former Island player Geoff Ogier proving her win again me the previous week was no fluke.

Some highlights from this week's matches as the summer league comes to a close with just one week to go for catch-up outstanding matches followed by the knockout stage.
Group 3 - Newcomer Craig Harvey continues to impress with two wins and six points against bottom-of-the-table Paul Regan. However Luke Bush still tops the table with a 3-0 win scoring a total of 5850 in his second leg against Carla Allen.
Group 2 - Claire Gauvin continues her successful run with a well-deserved 3-0 win against Kyran Perkins. The match between two veterans and old adversaries Norman Wilkinson and Geoff Ogier ended with a convincing 3-0 win for Norman by 6130 points to 2250, which has propelled him to the top of this group with just one match to play.
Group 4 - Chris Bourgaize moves up the table with a 3-0 win against Bob Mckenzie, Chris scoring a total 6120 over two legs.

The Group stages are now over. We now move into the Divisional playoff semi-finals. To be played on Tuesday 26th July at Hampshire Lodge & Mariners Inn.
Division 1 Norman Wilkinson v Leon Ogier. Having defeated Geoff Ogier, I face another tough challenge. I was unable to play - Leon has kindly agreed to re-arrange.
Luke Bush v Chris Bourgaize. In his first season, Chris has played well. Luke goes in as favourite. Luke as expected, a comfortable winner 3-0 to make the final.
Division 2 Bob McKenzie v Champ. Bob the underdog in this one, but has made a great start in his first season. Bob took a leg off Champ, however, Champ through to the final on aggregate. Craig Harvey v Geoff Ogier. Craig has impressed in his first season. Could be a close game. Yes it was a very close encounter, Geoff sneaking it on aggregate by 3820 to 3630.
Division 3 Adrian Bush v Carla Allen. Bushy in as a late replacement. Expect some choice words in this one ! Bushy makes the final beating Carla 2-1 on the night.
Matt Wilcox v Claire Gauvain. Pocket was in the toughest group. Matt still recovering from injury. Claire had a quiet night as Matt powers into the final against Bushy.
Division 4 Steve Carre v Paul Regan. Paul still off the pace but determined to improve. Steve favourite. Paul pulled off a big shock winning 3-0.
Kyran Perkins v Steve Le Gallez. Great to see Steve back in the fold. Kyran improving every match. Kyran makes the final in his first league season.
