That will be a first if all those affiliation fees have already paid which, I believe, will be not be due until September 1st.

Hi Joe
The affiliation fee £30 needs to be paid which is due 1st September to allow entry to any of the AEBBA comps (have sent message to Jamie)
The entry to the singles is usually the person who wins your County singles. Some Counties have a separate singles competition to get the person to represent your County

Is there a way to decide an alternative entry if the singles winner is no longer a member of the county? We also don't hold a separate women's knockout, so can we just select the person that got the furthest in the mixed competition?

Each County can decide on their criteria for sending their representatives for this

Just bumping this thread as less than 2 weeks to go
Would be helpful if Counties could let us know if they will be sending any representatives or if they won’t be sending anyone so we know the numbers
Thanks

Excellent day of bar billiards, very competitive ladies competition with 2 wins each for all the participants. Very close on the aggregate scores too with Denise Wills prevailing by around 1500 points from Jean Brackenridge - high break went to Dawn Jordan In the Men's competition Matt Jones continued his fine run of form winning all 5 of his matches to take the title, Mark Trafford was runner-up - high break went to Nigel Senior (who stepped in to represent Sussex following the injury to Jim Millward) Well done to everyone who participated, thanks, as always to Matt and Cliff Slade with a few other helpers for their hard work in setting up the tables. Not many left at the end but thanks to those who did help especially Dawn Jordan who carried loads of items to the van, with Matt and I having a good laugh with John Slee and Gary Powell as we had a bit of fun dismantling the tables Thanks to Nigel and Mark for their incredible efforts on running 4 competitions in one day

Congratulations to Matt Jones and Denise Wills on winning the All England Singles titles yesterday Although only 6 players were present in the All England Singles it was a strong line up with 4 of the top 5 in the rankings competing. Matt was the class of the field on the day as he won all 5 matches to take the title and complete the triple crown of World Champion, All England Champion and Grand Prix champion. He joins an elite club of Kevin Tunstall, Bernie McCluskey, Paul Sainsbury, Mark Trafford, Keith Sheard & Phil Collins - Matt is not in bad company there! As i said Matt was the best player on the day averaging 11,031 per leg - but he did give chances to all his opponents but they couldn't capitalise - and when they didn't Matt was pretty lethal. Mark Trafford was hobbling a bit but managed to finish runner up - he was level on 3 wins with Curt Driver and Nigel Senior but got the nod on aggregate score. Player | County | P | W | L | Score | Player Ave | Pts |
---|
Matt Jones | Bucks | 5 | 5 | 0 | 110,310 | 11,031 | 10 | Mark Trafford | Oxon | 5 | 3 | 2 | 80,430 | 8,043 | 6 | Curt Driver | Kent | 5 | 3 | 2 | 73,100 | 7,310 | 6 | Nigel Senior | Sussex | 5 | 3 | 2 | 60,760 | 6,076 | 6 | Gary Powell | Surrey | 5 | 1 | 4 | 42,860 | 4,286 | 2 | Jon Scoones | Berks | 5 | 0 | 5 | 36,510 | 3,651 | 0 |
The Ladies competition was extraordinary as the 5 ladies played out what was surely the closest competition ever in this event. Going into the last series Pauline Withey was finished on 2 wins. Dawn Jordan and Janet Burns also had 2 wins but had to play Jean Brackenridge and Denise Wills respectively. Denise got 9k up on Janet on tricky table 6, Janet faught back with a 6k score, but Denise got her vital 2nd win. The other game saw Dawn build up a 5k lead against the break putting her favourite to retain the title, but as Jean does she found a way to came back to win the 2nd leg and the match but would it be enough on score? When it was added up just 11,730 points separated ALL FIVE ladies. In the end just 1,730 points was between the winner and runner up....and it was Denise (39,580) who pipped Jean (37,850) to take this title for the 4th time. I joked at the start of the day about having a run round the block to decide the winner if scores were tied - it wasnt far off happening! Player | County | P | W | L | Score | Player Ave | Pts |
---|
Denise Wills | Surrey | 4 | 2 | 2 | 39,580 | 4,948 | 4 | Jean Brackenridge | Sussex | 4 | 2 | 2 | 37,850 | 4,731 | 4 | Dawn Jordan | Bucks | 4 | 2 | 2 | 31,880 | 3,985 | 4 | Janet Burns | Berks | 4 | 2 | 2 | 29,440 | 3,680 | 4 | Pauline Withey | Oxon | 4 | 2 | 2 | 27,850 | 3,481 | 4 |
Congratulations to the 2 champions - a big thanks to Matt again for setting up the tables and the club for hosting. Thanks to Mark Trafford for all his work on the admin desk, also Matt Knight for sorting out scoresheets and cajoling people to score games.

Thanks again to everyone for organising another good days bar billiards. As always, the standard was very high. Congratulations to Matt and Denise for their singles wins and Matt and Dave for their AEBBA titles. All well deserved. To Matt for the tables, Nigel, Mark, Matt and Jean for the admin. It is very much appreciated because without the effort of the few, days like yesterday couldn’t happen.

Hi All As many have said what a great day of bar billiards it was at totteridge on Sunday. Brilliantly ran by the "Gang of Four" on the main table and considering they all played in multi competitions throughout the day. I really don't know how Nige sorts out formats and thinks on his toes to keep everything going. Mat seemed to be the in name of the day. Huge congratulations to Mat Jones as said achieving the amazing triple. Some achievement for someone of his tender years only playing a relatively short time. Congrats to Mat Knight beating Curt in over 50's ( Something I couldn't quite manage last year). Well done Dave Ingram winning the over 60's and finally Congratulations to Surrey's Denise Wills winning an amazing ladies competition. Thanks to all at the club a superb Venue. On a personal note didn't play that bad but 2 early baths meant I scored a few but not with my cue unfortunately.. Roll on Jersey. .
