Mick gets 'em all right. Won't split hairs about the cuirass which goes all the way round (ie. breast and back). Have filled in in orange which questions have now gone. There are 18 sub-sections left to get. Well done Mick ! Trust you to know Anne Boleyn ! ;)

Ok I think it from the Old French word frere. Or have you gone for the far easier answer from the Latin word frater, both meaning brother. I think!!
Edward VIII
15a Johann Wolfgang von Goethe for 'more light' 15f strike man, strike was said by Sir Walter Raleigh just before he was beheaded.

Edward VIII 15a Goethe 15f strike man, strike was said by Sir Walter Raleigh just before he was beheaded. 16d You been at the sauce, mate ? ;D Edward VIII's reign only last 325 days and he was never crowned. He can't be the fourth-longest. 13 (i) Frater ( Lat: brother) is correct for 1pt. Frere itself of course is derived from Latin, the basis of many European languages.15a Goethe correct, 1pt 15f Raleigh correct, 1pt Bet he's turning in his grave right now about the smoking ban. Hi Mick, As you realised from your quote "Bugger !!! Too Late!!" I can give you nothing for 13 (i) and 15 (f) which had already gone. However, as your quote is half-right for the famous last words of George V "Bugger Bognor" I am allowing a discretionary bonus half-point !
You get one point for 15 (d) Charles I.
16 that's an interesting answer, and I would have had to concede the point if you had said the correct James which is James VI. If you add the two thrones together too, it makes him monarch for a combined 80 years. A half-point bonus then for James I. My marking paper says Edward III (1327-1377).
