Windmill GG 4, Alfold SC 1 (@ Mucky Duck) Mick Holmwood 2560, *Chaz Dunkley 720 (in his first few visits Mick probably lost as many as he eventually finished with) *Steve King 4530, Kelly Slater 1600 (good game by Kelly which at one stage included an 870 break against our Mr Reliable) Paul Jobbins 1340, *David Slater 1780 (very close this one, Paul could have won with his last visit but lost 'em on a difficult leave) *Clive T 3500, Malcolm Greening 1650 (some good early 50 play from Malc but a 2k break half-way through saw me home) Graham Daniels 1790, *Bill Hicks 1020 (the same fate befell Bill as it did Paul in the third game)
A good evening with the Alfold boys and girl who ran us closer than the scoreline suggests.

My on-the-spot reporter advises the following stunning match result from the Windmill tonight: Roffey CC 5, Cricketers BFZJohn Tidy 4000, *Dick Dewdney 2740 *Jim Balchin 8650, Ricky Dewdney 2050 Dave Sands 4490, *Brian Goodchild 320 *Nobby Wheeler 3660, Bill Hammond 3320 JT again (4plyr) 4630, *Mick Clack 590 "a good evening spent in friendly company" - Margo (For the benefit of Michael W, yes Jemima really did score that many - opening with 8500 - which begs the question what has gone right to cause this sudden change of form? A change of prescription? A bump on the head maybe?)

I have been told in the past that I only produce a report when either myself or the team have produced an extraordinary result, and that is absolutely true
Game 1 between Dick and myself, after the opening breaks I had a 3k lead, after that I was trying to leave balls on the table, whilst Dick was trying to get the break back, eventually he succeeded, but just when I started to feel worried he came off much to my relief
Game 2 between Jim and Rick An excellent opening 8.5k break by Jim with very few Heart in the Mouth moments I think we were lucky that Jim had the opening break in this game, because Rick could well have played the table out if he had started
Game 3 between Brian and Dave, Early in the game Brian had good lead, but a bizarre black peg did not help his cause. After that Dave took full control
Game 4 between Bill and Nobby, the closest game of the night, in fact at the end of the game both players shook hands thinking that they had lost, but Nobby's final break was enough to win the game
Game 5 between me and Clacky, Mick was off early and being worried about his shoulder I stayed on the table. In truth everything Mick tried did not work, whereas to his disgust every shot I played went straight down the pocket I was aiming at.
To be honest the result is very flattering, especially games 3 and 4, where the Cricketers could quite easily have levelled the match
The problem is that the team is now in the Team Cup, whereas we would have preferred the plate competition, but to our disgust the balls had other ideas and went straight down the pockets at which we were aiming
This does not happen to us very often, and so it will probably be back to normal next week when we play the Mucky Duck at home

Rssc 4 Mucky Duck 1
Colin 0 John 3010 Mick 2250 Dick 6910 Ding 2400 Mick F 4420 Steve 4490 Steve 0 Porge 280 Pete 2450
First up Porge and Pete .Neither making much off the break the game got scrappy. Porge pegging the black Very unlucky let Pete in. 1-0
LEG 2 a Steve derby. Again an even start till Sniffer gained the upper hand only for Steve H to make a telling break.
Game 3 Me and Colin and again nobody off with many. Nip and tuck for a long way till I got the balls back And made enough.
4th up Mick and Dick. Finally someone got hold of the top and Dick made a couple of steady breaks to Comfortably take the leg
Game 5 Ding and Mick. A fitting end to a fun night Fairsy playing some exhibition stuff to entertain the crowds.
A fun night with the Mucky Duck.
