Some good games on a high quality table tonight. Game 1 Mike never looked like missing making an excellent 9,860 opening break to make sure of the first game for the home side. I did get the break back straight away and was over 5k when the bar dropped with me on (another) excursion at the back of the tables and then taking the peg out. 1-0 (I have been making so many excursions around tables lately that I am thinking of starting a tour company.... not sure whether to call it "Ingram's Tours" or Warrior's Woeful Wanders", I am sure I will get the appropriate good advice about that on here!) Game 2 Jim opened with a very good 8,780 break leaving Stu C with (just about) enough time to catch him if he could fly, Stu got the break straight back but missed, Jim then lost a 3k break and Stu finished off. 1-1 Game 3 Superb opening break of 9,870 for Captain Mark giving Kevin no chance, lovely 3 ball clearance from KT who then played the table out. 1-2 Game 4 Bob caught a split wrong on just over 1k and came off at the back of the table, Geoff got the break back and made a steady 6k break, Bob did have another chance but it wasn't his night. 1-3 Game 5 Martin off on just over 2k but first to get them back and add another 8k to take the leg, Stu had a couple of breaks to end the night. 1-4 The league leaders remain unbeaten, enjoyable evening in good company and a tasty chilli with rice kindly provided by the Henty.

Alexandra B 3 - 2 The Vine
Kevin Stoner * 3170 - 6220 Trevor Rees. Kev off at 1900, Trevor balls back but off early. Trevor next to get the break back and settled down to make a 5k + break to ensure the visitors got off to a good start.
James Whittle * 8240 - 980 Paul Barnett. James opened with a good 6210 break and added another 2k to make sure before Paul eventually got the balls back only to peg his break, so all square
Bill Harrison * 2180 - 3840 Ros Appleby. Bill struggled with the break and the one up but with Ros unable to get the balls back Bill built a 2k lead. Ros got them back with about 5 minutes left and made a steady 3k + break to restore the visitors lead.
Tony Jenner * 12770 - 280 Tony Burgess. TJ opened with 7950 before once again spinning the one up out. With Tony B getting no luck TJ added another couple of breaks to take the game into a decider.
Rick Cunningham * 6760 - 810 Neil Higgins. Rick off at 2k + and Neil got them back but off fairly quickly. Rick added another 4k and Neil got the balls back but time was always going to be against Neil. Neil got to 2.5k before pegging leaving the home team relieved and a 3 - 2 win.
A good friendly night with the Vine as always, got to watch the football and a nice spread of chips and assorted party food to end the evening. Our last match before Xmas so would like to thank the Alexandra management and staff for hosting us and their hospitality. Table playing well but one or two quirks to catch players our especially if like me you lose your concentration. Thank you to Bill and Kevin who have stood in for us this season and to Rick for getting out of his sick bed to make sure we had 5 players. Good to see Mal although he is unlikely to be playing in the near future.
My team and I wish Nikki a speedy recovery after her operation on Tuesday, our thoughts are with you and Steve. Miss you on our Thursday evenings you take care and look after yourself.
