The cheque was presented to Walmer RNLI by senior members of the league at a ceremony this morning.
The sadness of the occasion was lifted by the obvious gratitude of the local lifeboat station for the £12½k donation. Some of the RNLI crew members were there wearing the high quality PPE gear the station has now been able to invest in.
