Michael Wilson (8450*,1480) 9930 - 10940 (2850,8090*) Denise Wills
The defending champion, Michael, took on the recently crowned Ladies Grand Prix winner, Denise, in a thrilling match which went down to the final few seconds.
Denise got the early advantage and won the toss, putting Michael in and he duly went on to register the games highest break on 6.7k. He was disappointed to miss though - giving Denise some early table time but she struggled to adjust, adding just 2k in reply. A tactical battle then ensued at the bottom of the table - but Michael got them back with a minute to go and added another k to hold a lead of 5.6k exactly going into leg 2.
That second leg was a scrappy affair with Denise on and off after 2.5k, only to get the break back again and come off with only another couple of k on the board. Another exchange at the back of the table came around and it looked like the winner of that would take the match. Michael eventually mopped up but was off after a k following a greedy 100 split. Denise had to get the balls back as she was 2.8k behind, and with 4 minutes remaining she did just that. A steady 3.7k followed as she effectively played it out to give her the win. A brilliant battling display gave Denise the win, dumping out the reigning champ in the first round.

Fritz (0) beat Abbey (3500) in the final.
Abs gained a lead of about 5k midway through the first leg but Fritz managed to get the break back and finished 1600 up. Second leg Fritz had the break with a deficit of 1900, excellent opener put him far enough ahead to win - well done Mark.
