Old Oak 4, Jolly Bricks 1 (in order played) *Nick 2130, Bob 2090 Clive 5970, *John 850 Paul 1760, *Steve 2130 Charlie 1690, *Mike BP(x2) *Martin 1820, Steve (4-plyr) 1260
Table very nice indeed tonight despite the relatively low scores. Progress often halted by playing a ball too soft. Games one and three were close, Bob losing by just 40 and Steve playing some good shots after the bar to deny Paul the chance of a last-ball win.

Salfords A 1 Spcc A 4
Sheila 1140 Dave 7600 Yvonne 300 John 10520 Zoe 4690 Laurie 3350 Linda 1410 Tracy 4150 Teri 2550 Junkie 4620
First up Sheila and DC. Sheila on the break and off on the one up gave Dave an early chance. DC in with a 3k break and a steady Start. A few more goes each and Dave next to get them back and another good break was enough to take the frame.
Next up Yvonne and yours truly. Yvonne overhitting her first break shot and off the table meant an early chance for me but 2k and Off also. A few more shots and I got them back another 3k and tap. Yvonne not having much luck I cleared the top and one last break was enough.
Third on Zoe and Laurie . As previously tonight Zoe going along ok but broke down. The game got a bit bogged down at the top but Laurie next to get them back and a good chance. At last Laurie made a decent break but broke down just as he got going. Zoe next to clear up and made a cracking break, just short of 3k. Loz had one last chance but beaten by the bar. Well played Zoe and 1-2
Ladies game next Linda and Tracy. A pretty even start for quite a while, but eventually Tracy started to string a few steady breaks together and built up a good lead. Linda not getting much luck Tracy ran out a good winner.
Last but not least Teri and Junkie. Teri going along ok but one up short let Junks in. A few more goes each and the game was Pretty close but eventually Junkie made a telling break to make sure of the leg.
A lovely evening with the "Salford Ladies " and a terrific game by Zoe making the best Home break and Score of the season for the B league ladies. All credit to the Salfords A it's a very long time since I played against a full ladies team. Brilliant advert Ladies!

On a night where many were enthralled by a superb world darts final, the Salfords Club had welcomed the return of bar billiards after the Christmas break. The Nomads were optimistic as Fantastic Mr. Fritz had been struck down with illness, but Salfords Y were in no mood to roll over. First up Nev had the home teams' sole break of the night and despite only going off with 1.5k, Michael played with a bit too much optimism costing him an early break that would level things up with a white peg before knocking the black peg over soon after. Nev made full use of this, adding to his score, but with four or so minutes left Michael got the balls back and had a chance. As soon as he was on, however, he was off again -not quite getting to grips with what is his home interleague top. 0-1. Next up Karen and JP faced off in a scrappy affair. JP has been in fine form this season, so much so that he went into the evening third in the Div B Player of the Year stakes, but perhaps he'd had a few too many christmas drinkies as that sparkling form was not there for him on the night, with Karen making good on her chances to take a valuable second leg. 0-2. Third on and captain Anita put the game to bed with a superb 5.5k break. Despite Jemima getting a couple of chances at the break Anita's big visit was plenty and sealed the match up for the home side at the earliest possible opportunity. 0-3. So now the Nomads were playing for pride, but Sue was in no mood for mercy as she played a solid game from start too finish to bring up the potential whitewash... 0-4. Thankfully for the Nomads, though, their blushes would be saved by the magic man who, for the second week on the trot, knocked in a personal high break at the Salfords Club - this time a wonderful 3.5k from his opening visit. This was too much for Karen to fight back from and a few more good knocks from Bruno sealed a leg and a point for the Nomads who clawed a frame back at the death. 1-4. So a great start to the second half for Salfords Y as they avenged an opening day defeat at the Garland with a thumping win here. For the Nomads though it was a humbling defeat and they will hope to bounce back in their quest for the Div B title.
