New Oak A stay in the title hunt winning a tough match against their B side
New Oak A 3 - 2 New Oak B 2
Ian Lelliott 10,680* - 2,590 Sandra Hall Phil Osborne 6,300 - 9,210 Stu Carruthers Bob Osborne 1,750 - 9,200 Jean Brackenridge Martin Smith 7,080* - 900 Michelle Baden Nigel Senior 9,420 - 6,700* Alan Brackenridge
In leg 1, Ian went down with the break against Sandra. ian started off with 4k with the help of a couple of 'shot Ians', Sandra got the balls back, got a 100 split at a 100 miles per hour but came off on about 2k. Ian made sure of the game as he was next to get the balls back. 1-0
Leg 2, Stu took on Phil, and was off early at 450. Phil unlucky to get nothing on his first shot, Stu got the balls back, fair to say he didnt really settle until later in the break but made close to 9k. Phil made a nice 6k to finish 1-1
Leg 3 Jean v Bob, Jean's opening 8k enough to win the game there may have been a couple of shot Jean's in there.... 1-2
Leg 4 Smithy in for the absent Chippers. Started nicely with 5k. Chelle got them back but missed her first one up, then the table got loaded to ensure we had a decider. ...2-2
Leg 5 so it was to be big Al v big Nige. Al in with 4k kept hitting red behind the 50 on the split but couldnt recover the 3rd time he did it. Balls back for me, my 2nd split which I now confess was meant for the 10 was so poor it whipped the 100 and missed the peg on the right. My next shot also flirted with the same peg but a couple of shots later I was back on the break. The next 8 minutes or so was a bit better and I got to 9k and touched.
Good match against our B side which could have gone either way. Tough match next for us away to the Stag, in a couple of weeks. Chippers will be back - i am still waiting for his text finding out how we got on last night....he has probably got no phone signal or something......

Duke of Wellie 5-0 Mariner Im sure one of that rabble will put up the results, but may need to put in a complaint at some point. First game (my game) Bar Failure, no worries lift table and pull bar. Balls not returning, rubber loose on bar stopping balls, lift table to secure rubber once balls are back (lost precious game time), bar drops on 15 mins with me closing on score. All other games went 20mins. Mop and Daz were a little unlucky in defeat as the clock worked against them. Games were conveniently timed throughout the night by the home team to manipulate the outcome of games. See i didn't even hint at cheating there. Pizza came with too much fruit on it for most people. All of the above of course is complete tongue in cheek and the Mariner boys had best night in a while. Always good fun with the Wellie lot. A few of the lads carried on back in Brighton after and not heard from either of them today . Till next time Wellie

Blue Anchor 5-0 Bevy Matthew Knight 7850 - 3370 Doug Dawson** - Doug off early but first to get them back, going well with over 3k but then he put a one up behind. I managed to get them back and made enough, lucky escape though with my first split, whipping out the 100 and narrowly missing the right hand peg Tony Jenner 8320 - 3640 Brian Muggridge** - Both players below their recent good form, Brian off early missing a straight 50 and then a real struggle for him to get the balls back. Tony did and was going well before trying to leave the red further back left a one up short. A couple more breaks killed it off Joe Oakley 7760 - 1560 Kevin Stoner** - Legs well below his best, he missed both balls on the opening break shot and then neither player could pot a ball for 3 mins Kev was in the process of making a good clearance before, with the final ball he took out the right hand peg to give Joe the balls back. Impressive 6k from Joe and touch to give us an unassaible lead Rick Cunningham 5520 - 3760 Ellis Candy** - Ellis found a number of different ways to come off early during his 5 five breaks including twice going behind on the one up. In between the carnage Rick looked back in form with a very good 5.5k and touch for the win Chris Cox 6230 - 1570 Liam Barber** - Liam opening break of just over a thousand was the highest opener of the night for the visitors. Chris needed two breaks as he also put the one up behind but made sure second time for the whitewash Visitors nowhere near their recent good form and we took adavantage. Very good night with the Bevy lads with plenty of loud banter
