Hi Nigel I have amended the result on Daves post and as it was one point per match and not leg Kim indeed wins the group and will play in the final

What (if any) rules were outlined to the contestants in the Tarring Club round robin? Did Chris go for a 200 shot to 'win' a leg, thinking that she had little to lose? (rightly so under the previously published rules, that Dave clearly believed to be correct)
I was fortunate that both Jean and Joe made sure that I understood the current rules before the Alexandra RR. I had not revisited the thread on here after the original posting.

I believe Joe was on the phone to Dave on the night explaining the rules

I sent Dave a scoresheet over and the rules were attached as below:-
All games 2 legs, First named to break first, 1 point to game winner, If draw head to head to count, Still draw total score to count
My apologies if some confusion but Joe has put a lot of effort into making sure this competition took place and we tried to ensure players got to play at least 4 frames of bar billiards.

I originally was going to run the event at Tarring but ended up playing a rearranged game due to time constraints and availability of the teams involved so Dave stepped in to help out. Thanks to Dave for doing so.

Thanks to Joe for getting the competition going. The format was great as gave the ladies more than just one game. Great to see so many entries and much better than just a final being played
Yes there was some confusion in one of the groups but sure everyone enjoyed the evening.

I'm told that the players at Tarring weren't told any rules at all before their matches. Chris went for the 200 on her first leg, because that would have 'won' her the leg, which she thought was important. A very unfortunate confusion. However, in the words of a guy called Graham Potter (who???) "It is what it is"
Many thanks to Joe, who has managed to resurrect the Ladies competition. The format was great, it was good to get 4 games on the night.
Thanks to Joe and Neil for scoring all the games at the Alex.

Sadly this is the fault of the players they should be aware of the rules beforehand and if not it is only them that can be found at fault looks like an excellent competition nonetheless and congratulations to the two finalists
