SPCC B 3, Old Oak 2 Pete Nicholls 6480, *Nick 3200 (a good performance from Nick, must be something close to a Personal Best) Martin P 1270, *Clive 6310 (Martin peeved at failing to cash in on my early mistake) Genette 4100 *Martin G 6010 (Genette battled well, our Martin making an early impact) *Mick Wright 11,120, Paul 840 (One-way traffic with Mick making the most of the home team's only break) Denise 8020, *Charlie 90 (Charlie spilling his opener and Denise making her experience count)
Nice table, nice people, nice food provided (brown bread, butter, pate, ham, chipolatas, cheddar cheese and a selection of chutneys - nom nom!)

Salfords B 2 Spcc A 3
Junkie 2030 Caroline 6030 Dave 4480 Tom 7170 Laurie 5580 Dave 4570 Tracy 4000 Mark 1820 John 11040 John 1530
Up first Junkie and Caroline ( Couldn't have written the script Junks playing the Jones household yet again. Moan from Junkie and as Frankie Howard would say "And so it came to pass ). Caroline on and a steady start gave her a 2k lead. A few more goes each and Junkie got them back his chance. Going along ok on the Break when the ball rolled of the red spot so unluckily and he was off. A bit of tip tap and Caroline cleared up and made a cracking break To take B league highest break, score and 6k pb.
Game 2 rematch of Burwoodcup clash recently Tom vDc. Dave on the break struggling a bit off on 1800. Tom playing really well got the Balls back and a very good 7k break put the game out of reach. DC balls back late on to play time out but 2-0 down.
Leg 3 and Laurie v DJ a pivotal crucial leg. Laurie on and off with an early mistake and Dave got them back. Loz fearing the worst but Dave off with 3k but a healthy lead. Pressure on and Loz cleared the balls and made no mistake second time chasing Dave's score for a Fine win.
Next up Mark and Tracy. Plenty of goes each and a pretty level start till Tracy got them back. Sitting on 2k break she surprisingly missed The ball and back level. More goes each and Tracy managed to get them back and one good break sealed the win 2-2
Last up John v John. John on and off gave me an early chance. Very steady 5k and tap put me in control. A few more goes each and I Cleared the top and played to the bar with another 5k. Back off holiday good to Pick the cue up.
A Nice evening as always with the Salfords B. Terrific leg by my Guernsey Partner well played. Going 2-0 down a good result. Roll on Next week and Presidents Cup. ( Who would believe it Salfords B )

Nomads | 3 | v | 2 | Reigate Ex | Abbey* | 1600 | - | 840 | Les | Jemima | 3420 | - | 2020 | *Barry | Bruno | 0 | - | 1120 | *Bobbie | Michael | 8600 | - | 290 | *Maria | Bruno (P5) | 0 | - | 2350 | *Les (P5) |
A rearranged fixture between the Nomads and Reigate Ex provided an entertaining evening for onlookers at the Garland, that is if they were Bayern Munich fans anyway. The drama started off the table, with Jemima arranging a pairs match with Abbey for 1930 at the Old Oak the Balchins were late, while Richard hit car troubles meaning Michael desperately tried to find a fifth player - but to no avail! So with just Michael and Bruno on time for the Nomads, and Les and Bobbie for Reigate Ex, a chaotic evening had a pleasingly symmetry between both of the 4-player teams. Due to this staggered arrival, it was decided that game three - Bruno and Bobbie - would be the first fixture of the night and the magic man started well. But he soon got ambitious and while trying to clear the balls his magic touch evaded him, clipping the black peg while going for one in front of the 10. From there on Bobbie held a 600 lead and the table quickly became clogged up, with one ball ending up on the edge of the 200!! Bruno sadly couldn't refind his mojo and succumbed to a defeat - while also taking out the black peg going for the crowd pleasing 200 to finish. 0-1. So after a tricky start the Nomads turned to their traditional trio, first up being the newly tattoed Abs. Abs hadn't had her abs tatted but had had her arm tat added too. Clearly Les was too busy admiring Abs' tat as another excellent performance from the Nomads' leading lady saw the Nomads to parity. 1-1. After Balchin junior had got the job done, Balchin senior - Jemima - was next up and went off in his usually showboaty style. Barry stuck in well with Jemima but her brazen ability to scare her captain paid off, not knocking the black peg over this week despite a couple of potentially flirtacous moments. 2-1. Next on captain Michael took on Maria - who'd brought several work colleagues along for the occasion. Perhaps this wasn't the best draw to show off her skill as Michael was well aware that he needs three wins from three to secure B-player of the year and despite being "fairly kind" he easily racked up the highest score of the night. 3-1. Last up was the battle of the fifth players, and for the second time this season Les was picked to play twice against the Nomads. He once again salvaged a second point for his team as Bruno just couldn't get going and Les' opener of 1k was enough to hold a comfortable advantage throughout. To finish things off Bruno attempted a sixth 200 shot to finish a frame on the bounce... and for the sixth time ploghed through the black! Oops! 3-2. So a victory for the Nomads which puts them well on course for a Div 2 triumph. A win next week against Salfords B would likely seal the title, unless the Old Oak can channel their inner god modes that is! As for the race for Div 1, the Nomads are also looking healthily placed - a four point lead has now been opened up on the seventh placed MVC A.

Horley cc 0 Merstham vc B 5
Many congratulations to Mvc B on winning Redhill Div 1 tonight. They needed to beat Horley cc By at least 4-1 to overtake Spcc A. It's been a great Ding dong battle all season but a great result for them tonight under some pressure As we had the points on the board.
