It was a good evening for Division B leaders Nomads, on fellow contenders Salfords Bs home top, as they restored their five point lead at the top with this win and the mighty Merstham Village Club B overcoming the Salfords side 4-1. Early on it was not looking promising for the Nomads though, Teri started positive with a couple of good contributions to hold a 1.5k lead. Jemima tried and failed to get the break back and, despite many valiant attempts it was Teri who maintained her lead to chalk the openers up to the home side. 0-1. Hopes were high for Abbey as she'd come off a high quality practice session against Michael, battering in a 5k score to further put Michael in his place. As you'd expect, this form translated into a great start of... zero. The table may be quick but Abbey left her break about 10 ft short. Linda tidied up nicely and Sheila, who'd taken the scorers chair, was encouraging her teammate throughout the break, forgetting she was meant to be calling the score! Thankfully Michael had been counting, but Sheila's giggles seemed to knock Linda out of her stride as she came off almost immediately after on just over 1k. Abbey then made sure her earlier form was no fluke with an excellent clear and 2k break, only to be undone by the tricky LH 50. From then on there was only one person who looked like winning, and that was Abbey who cruised away to level the match. 1-1. On third JP made good on his break by adding 1k and Zoe just could not find her feet. Despite many valiant attempts the break was just not coming back for Zoe and the one time she did get it, she hit the break too thin putting the red just beyond the 50 on the cush. As for JP though, he looked in good touch, showing that early season form once more and adding to his impressive 22/23 record. 2-1. Next up Yvonne squared up against Michael. On the drive over Yvonne had tried to catch Michaels attention at the lights, but he'd obliviously just though it was someone itching to race off from the lights. On the table Yvonne made the most remarkable start: 15, 31 (100-30), 46 and then a fourth time. Michael had never seen such craziness, he'd wager that you don't often hear a scorer call one-up after 460 points. Anyway as Yvonne came crashing to a stop Michael pulled away with far less drama by adding 3.5k. From there a fun and friendly game ensued at the back of the table as Michael had ensured the Nomads win. 3-1. To finish Jemima was back, stepping in for Max who was still working... poor excuse, he knows from his uni days that Tuesday night IS Billiards night - nothing gets in the way. Anyhow, Sheila decided to get in the way of Jemima leading right up until the last minute. Jemima had been unsuccessful all night in trying to get the break back but with two minutes to go she finally did, making no mistake despite several heart-stopping moments which could have destroyed her hard-work. In the end Sheila was left disappointed, but it would have been harsh on Jemima not to have got the break back all night over two legs. 4-1. So a fun evening that cemented Nomads' place at the summit of Division B. The end is coming... and the mighty Nomads are on the charge!

In order game one Tracy and Taz. Taz on the break put his one up behind And off. A few goes each and Tracy got the balls back and made a steady 2k. Chances for both players but Trace next to clear up and another lovely 3k Gave her a good lead. Late on Taz got them back and made a 1k plus break Including an unbelievable one up so thin it went down the right 30 (to a huge cheer )
Second game Junkie and Peters first. Junks thinking here we go again as Pete Sailing along past 2.5k finally broke down. A few balls potted and a few pegs down Junkie eventually cleared up and head down set about the chase. In the form of His life at present never looked in trouble. 2-0
Next on DC and Steve. Steve off early and a good chance for Dave. 4k and tap Gave him a good lead. Plenty of goes each and Steve next to get the balls back And made a nice 2k break. DC clearing the last few 3-0
Game 4 John v John. John W on with the break and off with a steady 2.5k but missed his one up giving Me a chance. Going along nicely I then played a crazy one up and was off.John Playing really well took advantage to stretch his lead. I then cleared up again and Finally got going only to break down on a double kiss. John then got them back And played it out with a terrific 3k. A brilliant effort and as he said wow I've never Scored that many. 3-1
Last up me and Pete for our second goes. Peter's break a and off with a cracking 3.5k ,I thought here we go again pressure on. Balls back and I made enough to catch up. A chase for the break which fortunately I won a d played to the bar. Phew!!!
A lovely entertaining evening with the Bricks lads. Both with 4 players each and in the End a good win for us. Table playing superb giving everyone a chance with John W . Hitting his PB and Taz and Pete their best scores of the season a great night all round.
