Blue Anchor 1-4 Stags Head C Matthew Knight 0 - 5750 Bob Hall** - captains on first and Bob's 3 breaks better than my Z E R O, some pretty woeful attempts from me to get them back, Bob showing it could be done **Chris Cox 2090 - 4250 Stuart Mepham - attritional this one with neither player getting to grips with the table. Stu definitely played the back better than Chris which was the difference Tony Jenner 1050 - 10,860 Grant Tully** - excellent 6k opener from Grant gave TJ pretty much no chance **Joe Oakley 3840 - 6270 Jim Millward - Joe started off pretty well. Getting them back Jim played a woeful split and missed both, but presented with another opportunity made it look easy Rick Cunningham 3110 - 0 Kevin Hall - Rick did well saving us from the ignominy (good word for 11.50 on a Wednesday night, halfway through Cheltenham ) of a whitewash with a little help from Kev who knocked the black peg over when looking like making a winning break Table good on the break, but, as always a struggle to get them back Thanks to the Stag for a good night and some enjoyable chat after the match. Good luck to them in the final Thanks to Bob for my presents

New Oak join the Stag in the final after beating the Wellie
Duke of Wellie 1-4 New Oak A
Chris Tupper 8,020* - 880 Bob Osborne Colin Smith 2,960 - 6,220* Phil Osborne Dave Reeves 2,530* - 6,230 Marc Chipman Kevin Tunstall 5070 - 6,660* Ian Lelliott Mick Winder 1,030** - 19,920* Nigel Senior
In leg 1, Tupps off on around 3k, but he kept getting the balls back, bob didnt get them back at all and asked Tupps what the table was like after the game 1-0
Leg 2, Looked like New Oak in big trouble as Phil off in 2 shots and Colin balls straight back. Colin left one up short on 1,000, then got the balls back to do the same on 1,000. Phil gets them back and makes about 1,500 to be about 1k behind. then Phil balls back again and makes 4k to level the match 1-1
Leg 3 Big game calls for a big time player - so enter the mighty Chippers. Dave off before getting into 4 figures, Chipper balls back. Not allowed to criticise this week so wont mention the 3 reds missed thin on the break as it took a bit of time for Marc to figure the break was fat. He did make the first 100 split of the night on the way to a 3k break. Then balls back again and a very good 3k touch up put the Oak in charge at 1-2
Leg 4 Ian went for the steady approach going in with 3k, no joy for Kev and Ian made another 2k but left Kev 8 minutes 5k down. Kev set about the chase recovered at the back a couple of times but came off 2mins to go 400 behind. Ian cleared and won the leg and the match 1-3
Leg 5 Micks break off on 1,030. 'No pressure' for Nige so went for it got to 19,820 with one white left, went for the 200 and although perfect line left it an inch short....1-4
Thanks to the Wellie for a good night, thanks to Kev stoner who got the table good for the game who looked quite happy coming in after the Albion match. Look forward to Cup final against the Stag....
