Stag C V Master mariner
Knowing a 5-0 was the only result to give us a sniff at a league title I decided I had to really think of who to play and where. So I did the most sensible thing and I put us in height order so up first GT
Grant 14660 Steve 980 Jim 10230 Dj 1850 Kev 10390 moppy 7860 Boball 11290 Darren 340 Stuart 13710 Bob 830
Game 1 Steve off on 610 and no messing for GT 10k and touch for a 1-0 lead Steve tried his hardest but in some serious discomfort was struggling all night
Game 2 Dj off on 800 and Jim balls back and 8k and touch to make sure of 2-0 then plenty of goes each as balls went awkward before him got another 2k to make sure of 10k
Game 3 moppy was looking superb and played a blinder here going off with 7.7k in just over 8 minutes didn’t look like missing till a fat split caught him out, chunky had a chance to clear missed then moppy to the table and missed aswell before a cracking break back shot by chunky and the chase was on 10k and touch and we had gone 3-0
Game 4 Darren put the 1 up behind and pegged it I got the balls straight back and touched on 8k to make it 4-0 Darren then proceeded to lose another 3k the pegs were not his friend tonight
Game 5 Bob off very early leaving the 1 up short and Stuart balls back got to 5 before coming off at the back of the table but kept his score. Stuart first to get them back and I thought that’s it game over nope he puts the 1 up behind, but break number 3 comes and he doesn’t make the mistake getting 7k and touch to give us the all important 5-0
Excellent night with some great lads and excellent sarnies no tomatoes in sight was a delight and they all went so can’t be bad

Bevy 2 new oak b 3
Little legs 3500 Alan B 5840 Close game until littlelegs got break back but missed ball and lost 2k (which probably would have won the leg) Alan got break back off the same shot and managed to play to the bar for the win
Brian 2510 Jean 4590 Brian in front until I eventually got the break back towards the end and played out with 3k for the win
Doug B/p stuart 6570 Good game from Stuart showing us all how to play bar billiards
Liam 1610 Chelle 1250 Steady game from Liam and nothing going for Chelle. Also things kicking off in the bar didn’t help anyone trying to concentrate on their game
Ash 1070 stuart 600 Fun game with the new oak b Captain telling Stuart there was a 200 shot every shot he played and cheering on Ash Stuart close on a few occasions but not managing the 200 (might have been a black peg somewhere in the attempts) also trying to help ash with a few shots (but Brian and doug the left hand side bottom with a bit of right on the ball really don’t help 🤣)
Fun night with the bevy and lots of laughs (mainly at some shots that were attempted)
Kev hope that’s a summary of the night…. Forgot I was drinking doubles! 🤣

Table moved into it original position in middle bar before tonights match but played well as we got revenge for our earlier beating this season by the Moulescoomb Club New Oak A 4 - 1 Moulescoomb Club Nigel Senior 10,360 - 180* Vic McFadden Ian Lelliott 13,210 - 570* Tim Scotney Phil Osborne 3,190 - 3,590* Phil Reay Bob Osborne 8,730 - 3,570* Colin Green Marc Chipman 7,550 - 1,500* Martin Parsons In leg 1, Early miss from Vic, then a bit of a struggle to get the ball back, Marcus got a little excited when I knocked both white pegs over in one shot. I did get them back to make 6k and then added another few at the end to get my 10k 1-0 Leg 2, Tim off early on a short one up. Ian in no mood for mercy as he had the away encounter in mind. He racked a 13k score 2-0 Leg 3 Phil O lost a 2k break in the middle of this game which proved decesive - Phil (Reay) made a couple of 2k breaks leading to a chase by Phil which came up a few hundred short 2-1 Leg 4 Colin broke off with 3k but that was your lot for him. If the Blue Anchor next week need to fear anybody it is the mighty Bob Osborne, who made a super 8k and touch. Could he be breaking Blue Anchor's hearts next week? 3-1 Leg 5 and onto to Chippers...he was already set off by the pub only serving pints in schooners which are 2/3rds of a pint. So after he told us all he had a pint and a half after his 2nd Schooner I told him he needs to go back to school and redo his O-Level maths. Into his game and he made the 'crappiest 7k' he had ever made. Now these were his words not mine but I found it hard to disaggree especially given how lairy he was after my couple of pegs. Martin ran a bit short on time in trying to catch Marc....4-1 So 5 legs apiece with the Moulescoomb Club this year - we will take that, thanks to them for a good night. So onto next week and it seems the Blue Anchor need to beat us to make sure of the title. I am sure they will handle the pressure. I will not be on first with the break, instead maybe game 5 at 2 apiece....Matt or Joe?
