It is with great sadness I have to report the passing of Sheena Wood who died last night in hospital. Sheena will be remembered for the many number of years she played in the Brighton League amongst others, it must be well over 30 years. She held many positions on the Brighton Committee including Chairman. In later years she took more of a back seat but still doing many of the unseen and unsung jobs, we spent plenty of time in Pyecombe cleaning and sorting out trophies. She was a formidable opponent. Sheena did an incredible amount of miles for the love of our game including transporting many others. My condolences to all her family, rest in peace Woodie

news Shenna was a stalwart of the Brighton League and also spent some years playing in Worthing. She was always running people about and as Matt says could be a formidable opponent. Condolences to Senna`s family RIP

So sad to hear this I have many a fond memory of Sheena and scary ones as I was one of the people that Sheena ferried to and from Worthing games when we played together. A few hairy moments in the car on the way to games but funny didn’t notice on the way back. Condolences to her family she was an amazing woman. Love Sandra

Apart from being a tough opponent Sheena did an awful lot for bar billiards. Chairman, Treasurer and as Matt said did a lot behind the scenes. Never forget those trips to and from Worthing games when we had a ladies team. Sandra summed it perfectly. Lots of memories for me but one of the earliest was 33 years ago when I was in hospital. All wired up and not feeling my best suddenly a voice said “hello Jean how are you” Yes it was Sheena and I will never forget you helped bring my Sam into this world. Rest in peace Sheena you will be missed by many. Condolences to all the family

Sheena was a lovely kind lady and always willing to play when needed I remember playing with her in interleague and was always one of the first to arrive and would support everyone. Sad to think another kind person has left the world you won’t be forgotten and rip

So sad. Friend, doubles partner, sometimes opponent and sometimes team mate - she was one of the best. Sympathies to George and all of her family. RIP Sheena, you'll never be forgotten.

A lovely service for Sheena, full of wonderful stories from the family making people laugh mixed in with the obvious sadness. Bar billiards got lots of mentions including quotes from the posts on here, shame we were a little under represented. A fitting send off

As Matt says a lovely service mixed with poignant memories and humour. Good wake afterwards Sheena was done proud but echo disappointment for lack of bar billiards people attending as Sheena played our great game for over 50 years and was a great ambassador.

As I said previously lovely lady. Wonderful service. Very popular lady found out many things I hadn’t know previously. So glad I went! Rest in peace Sheena xx
