Congratulations to Northampton A on winning this years 5 a side one day competition, first time since 1991! They played consistently well all day winning their group by 16pts and then winning 14-1 in the final. Commiserations to the runner up, Oxford A, who also went undefeated and battled to the top of a very tough group, which going into the last game any one of three teams could have qualified from.
Hopefully everyone enjoyed themselves, we are very pleased to have the event back on the calendar, and are already in discussions about organising some dates for next year. It would be great to hear your feedback on the day (positive or constructive), we made some changes to normal for ease and also to try and mix things up and make the day different. We chose not to do a raffle as we made a small profit on the day with the small price increase and wanted to save time and also the need to ask players for more money when it is not needed.
Also like to say a big thank you to the Oxford League, Mark Trafford & Ian Gordon for providing the tables and organising the venue so we could make the day possible and the 5 players who stayed behind to score the finals so we could make the day shorter, its very much appreciated.
