**Pete Sainsbury 10,840 - 1330 Chris Tupper - Pete not at his best tonight with a couple of misses on the break which is unusual. Tupps could not take advantage, leaving his one up short when he got the break back

Bryan Stevens 1170 - 9720 Kevin Hall** - Kev looking very comfortable, but off on 4.5k with a thick split. Bryan could not get going and Kev finished off with another 4.5k

Vinny Mitchell 1830 - 8730 Bob Hall** - Bob looking in good form with no issues at all getting to 5.6k but then off, carried on his "sporting" week in giving the break back twice to Vinny, but a thin one up which took the peg, (when going well) and another to end his break were costly for Vinny and Bob finished off

**Richard Corbould 11,940 - 2030 Phil Osborne - Excellent 10k opener from Richard gave Phil no chance

Gerry Fitzjohn 4460 - 10,180 Jim Millward** - Brilliant 10k and touch from Jim, never looked like missing, one 10 split "spoliing" the perfect break. Gerry with a good comeback but left the one up short

Curt Driver 8780 - 6300 Nigel Senior** - Impresssive opener from Nige with mainly 10 splits but not looking in trouble until knocking the one up behind. Curt with a very good clearance and break to take it to a decider

**Martin Russell 5170 - 5450 Matthew Knight - Martin could never get going, struggling with the pace of the table but built a 5k lead with his 3 breaks as I could not get them back. Just when it looked as though there would not be enough time, I managed to get them back with 5 minutes to go and play it out to the bar to nick the match

Close and competitive match, with a nip and tuck decider. Very good night, table extremely good and perhaps a few more misses than might have been expected. Thank you to our opponents for an enjoyable evening. A good win for the visitors

With Jersey now gone the time had come for Redhill to make a trip to the Henty, the location in which they sealed their title triumph last year in a rather dramatic manner! A couple of Worthing voices made it known that they fancied a 6-1 or even 7-0 this time, but the reigning champs are no pushover.

First up young Molloy took to the baize and rather started the night as it would go on. The table was rapid and with the new balls sliding down off the cushions a thin split was required. Terry had 3/4 hairy moments, a couple of 20 splits whipped to another hole and a couple of slightly fat splits, but this was common place throughout the night and he recovered well to tap at 8.8k. Michael got them back but a fat 10 split saw him off at 1.8k, but next time he got them back and played the rest out for a breezy 100 splitting 5k. 1-0

Next up Geoff, he who downed the mighty KT in Jersey, was up for Redhill. This was not going to be his night though, coming off at 1k. Joe couldn't get them back initially but at the third attempt he could. Like Terry before there were a couple of dodgy moments early on, but Joe got into his stride and tapped up on 8k - very much admiring his final k. Joe then got them back and finished off to top his score up to 12k. 2-0

So the whitewash was indeed on, but Sleezy had other ideas. After a difficult Tuesday and Wednesday night Slee was looking good on his opener before an unexpected miss on 4.5k, the fat split once again rearing it's head. Gary couldn't get them back but when Slee did his first split went AWOL and Gary still had a chance! The balls were still not being kind to him though and John added another 3.5k to make sure before Gary got the break as the bar went, we've all been there eh!! 2-1

Fourth on was one of Worthing's three singing sensations and Martin was easily the most convincing of the night. Barely putting a foot wrong Martin was getting the red out wide to make the 100 split a bit thicker, and it worked a treat as he went along smoothly to 9k before tapping up. Gary had the misfortune of being the only player not to get onto the break, so Martin added a few more to rack up the nights high score. 3-1

One more frame required for the home side but with two Redhill breaks the champs could force a decider. DJ was up for the away side but was off early with a thin split at 1.2k. 20kStu couldn't retrieve the balls first time, which prompted a disgruntled "how many chances do you want?" from his captain. 20kStu was next to get them back though but he couldn't take full advantage, only getting 1k ahead before breaking down. DJ was still in it and managed to get them back. In proper "Stu Mepham" style DJ managed to use most of the holes on the table in a unique style before a thin 100 split whipped and stayed safe. "Good touch" was the call... 20kStu had to get his running boots on with 5 and a bit k to chase in 4 and a bit minutes. He was perhaps undone by a fat split at the start and a very brief excursion to the back of the table because Stu was going at 25k speed in pursuit but ended 500 short, a valiant effort and a relief for the visitors. 3-2

Next up Captain Colin the Caterpillar - more arms=more pint drinking potential - showed the Redhill mob how it was done with a superb 8k and tap, although naturally there were a couple of fat splits on the way. He was the only Redhillian to make enough first time, and so threw the gauntlet down to his opposing captain to do the same. 3-3

KT with the break.. it's in the bag surely? Well early on that seemed the case, but after a faultless opening couple of k some cracks started to show. Fat splits and bother up the top came his way. But the Kev has held a cue before and he battled on. There was always a sniff that he may come off, but he always found a way to keep it going before a touch up that had scorer Joe's heart in his mouth as the white stopped side-by-side with the peg. 10k and touch, never in doubt was it? A couple of goes each and DC got them back to finish off with 5k, Joe so excited with one particular "Horsham BOOM" that he left out of his seat and took one of the pegs out! Such was the hilarity it was a good job StuC knew what DC was seemed Joe trusted him more than the shouts of "that's 8k" from the Redhill side! 4-3

So an excellent evening at the Henty and the table was excellent - you can tell that from the scores. A delightful sausage curry and chips also filled a hole, with a certain Redhillian managing three portions, who knows who that was!! So the visitors remain top on frames won, but it's now a three way tie at the top with Redhill A, Brighton A and Worthing A all on three wins out of four. One more game to go before Christmas and it's all shaping up rather nicely for an interesting run-in!!
