Plough 2, Windmill GG 3 Mark Webber 3820, Mick Holmwood 1830 (felt for Mick as our guinea pig, but he was able to impart some useful tips about the D etc) Dave Vizor 1360, Michael Wilson 4760 (Michael making it look easy and successfully keeping Dave off the table) Brian Marten 1910, Johnny Haigh 2560 (5 wins out of 5 now for Acieeed) Keith Newman 3180, Clive Thompson 1790 (I had this one coming from Noggs) Steve Vizor 2440, Graham Daniels 5910 (best of the evening from Graham who had been watching proceedings avidly)
Pub nice and warm and the Plough are a sociable bunch. The sarnies provided had a good selection of fillings, the bacon ones particularly tasty. Did some research with Noggs on the number of different teams he has played in over the years - he being the Ultimate Nomad: We found 24. In no particular order: Rose & Crown (Cuckfield); Victory (Staplefield); White Horse (Maplehurst); Crabtree (Lr Beeding); Red Lion (Cowfold); Tabby Cat (W.Grinstead); RAFA Club (Worthing); Five Oaks B (Billingshurst); Windmill (Littleworth); Eight Bells (Bolney); Shaves Thatch (Woodmancote); Crown (Dial Post); George & Dragon (Shipley); Blue Ship (The Haven); Bell (Horsham); Roffey S & SC; Dun Horse (Mannings Heath); Bridge House (Copsale); Hare and Hounds (Cowfold); Norfolk (Horsham); Stout House (Horsham); Southwater SC; Roffey Cricket Club and now Plough (Lower Beeding).

Alfold SC 3 Railway 2 Bill 1640 Dave 2580 Major 1870 Scott 1250 Chaz 680 Lee 2210 Dave 1780 Colin 1450 Kelly 1910 Grant 1840 Game 1: Dave set up an early 1k lead which proved decisive. Game 2: Close all the way, Malc opened a slight lead which Scott couldn't match. Game 3: Lee led from the off, nothing Chaz tried worked. Game 4: Dave kept his nerve at the end to clinch the frame at the bar. Game 5: No pressure here, (!) classic battle between Grant and an on form Kelly took the game to the last ball. Cool as a cucumber, Kelly potted the 100 on first attempt to take the game and the match. What a fun evening this was. Plenty of chat and banter as usual between the two teams. The loss of the match for us was more than made up for by the home team winning their first match since February 2020 !!! Congratulations it's been a long time coming.

Cricketers 4 Rssc A 1 Dick 6690 Moose 5570 Ricky 6230 Pete 5560 Brian 1790 Steve 2630 Billy 4920 Twig 2710 Mick 8010 John 2440
First up Dick and Lee and Moose off early giving Dick an early opportunity. A steady start for Dick And balls back gave him an early lead. Game got a little bogged but Dick next to get them back and A useful 3.5 k gave him a good lead. Moose not giving up broke down on a 3.5 k break after just Catching up. A level game till Dick cleared the balls late on to nick it.
Game 2 In form Ricky and Little Pete. Similar to game one both players making some small breaks Early on. Fishy playing some good stuff took control of the leg but Ricky fought back to levels. Next break would be vital and it went Ricky's way. Unlucky Pete.
Next on Boycie and Sniffer and a scrappy opening start with both players struggling. Steve first to Get them back and going along nicely on 3k break till he caught a peg very Unlucky. Game drifting along till Steve eventually made a telling break 2-1.
Billy and Twig on 4th. Twig on but one up short gave Billy a good chance but only managed a few. Bits and pieces by both players till Billy got the break back and a 4k break grafted out gave him a Good lead which was enough to wrap it up. 3-1 .
Finally me and Mick and my break. Going along OK just under 2k but one up short as you have to Give the top a great bash. Mick balls back and caught me up only to leave one up short. A bit of tip Tap and I got them back. Whack it I said to myself but left the one up again hanging on the lip. Mick clearly them grafted out a cracking 6k break to the Bar.Gam over.
A great result for the Cricks where the opening 2 legs could have gone either way. Mick was superb Against me. Lovely night with Cricketers rounded off with nice spread and Billy's onions.
