Bevy 5-0 Caxton
Ellis 4760 890 Dayle (Ellis steady throughout and no luck for Dayle) Doug 4400 3830 Reggie (Good breaks for both players but Reggie just ran out of time) Zoe 3780 800 Peter (Excellent 3k break from Zoe despite flirting with the middle of the table for a while) Ash 1830 350 Dover (Black peg for Dover didn't help his cause) Brian 3710 650 Shaun (Same pattern as game one)
Great evening with the Caxton boys and girls.

Duke of Wellie 3 New Oak A 2
Mike D 11350 v 30 Bob Os - Excellent 8600 opener from Mike after leaving his first split short of the 100 hole Dave R 520 v 6660 Ian - Ian off fairly early but Dave couldn’t capitalise. A couple more scores for Ian levelled the match KT 9770 v 3100 Nigel - Nige looked to be going well until a firm split took out the right peg. Balls back and I touched on at 9k Tupps 4040 v 9930 Phil Os - Bring it home Tupps was the cry, that was until his second split missed both balls. Phil calmly set about clearing the balls , an amazing shot with pace and backspin saw the remaining two balls fly across the table, one in the hundred (shades of Joe). He then stayed on to make 9k. Level again! Mick 5920 v 2910 Martin S - Sometimes experience of the Wellie top can be a big advantage and so it showed with Martin leaving both his first two splits short of the hundred hole, eventually coming off at the top. Several go’s each before Mick made a match winning break. Great match for the neutrals and in the end for us 😉

MSC 3 - 2 Blue Anchor
Mick 1670 - 4740 Rick. Mick did well with the break in practice but couldn't translate that into the game. Rick took full advantage Martin 1260 - 3240 Tony. Bit of a patchy game with neither player really getting hold of the table until Tony got going. Tim 4980 - 3470 Chris. Tim got off well which meant Chris was chasing all the time. Tim kept getting the break back which didn't help Chris Colin 4950 - 3890 Joe. Colin off to a good start, leaving Joe nothing and it should have been all over until Colin knocked the white peg with a silly shot on over 1k but Joe ran out of time. Phil 4260 - 2830 Rick. I started really well (with a few heart stopping moments) leaving Rick, playing his second match of the evening, somewhat behind. It was a case of playing for bust in the end with Rick not quite managing it.
I forgot to ask about the sandwiches which meant pizzas again but a great evening so thanks to everyone.

Random Question - As we are now at the mid way point, does anyone know the current high score / break overall and for lower div?
Would be good to know the targets to aim for in second half of season.

Chris Cox - 25,160 @the stag head Wish you all the best trying to catch that one I believe the Brighton high breaks only count away from home.

I beat Grant 2-1 at the Blue Anchor. Grant won the toss and put me in. I broke down on 3.5k, GT was first to get them back but was off at 5k, which allowed me time to get another 3k for the leg. Into the second and GT only started with 1k, I got them straight back but off again at 3.5k. Grant then got a 6k break to go 1-1. Into the decider and I won the toss, went first and played it out for 19,900 without missing a 100 split. Grant put another pound but whipped his first split to end the chase. This will be pretty tough to beat too..
