Spcc A 3 Horley CC 2
Tracy 7460 Luke 1060 Laurie 5530 Alex 1170 Dave 6970 Nev 1860 Junkie 4370 Roly 4620 John 4100 Aaron 5060
Luke v Tracy first up and Luke missing early gave skipper a good chance. Tracy unable to get them Back the game got a bit scrappy. Halfway through on the clock and Tracy got them back. A very good 5k+ break put the game to bed.
Second on Loz and Alex. With Alex to break on paper a good chance for Horley to get one back. A very Confident Alex was going along nicely on 3k+ when he caught a one up a bit thin and pacey ,white peg. So disappointed to even give Laurie the break. Laurie going ok on 2k but a strange shot choice and off. Alex a chance but was struggling and couldn't capitalize. Loz cleared up and a good 3k made the frame Safe.
Third on Nev and Dc. Nevs break and put a few on the board early. Game took a while to get going and Nev was next to get them back and was Going really well approaching 2k when very unlucky to lose his Break. Dave eventually cleared up and a very steady 4k+ put the frame out of nevs reach. 3-0.
Fourth on Roland and Junkie. Rolys break and a very steady 3k opener gave him a good start. Junkie Next to get them back and replied with a couple. The game then got very close with both players looking For that last chance. Bar imminent Roly got that bit of luck and nicked it.
Last but not least Aaron and yours truly. Aaron's break and off early gave me a chance. Going along OK But a poor split choice and off. Both of us having a few goes but I managed to get them back. Again Going along confidently till a ball rested a bit awkward on the back cush. An awful attempt and missed. Aaron next to clear and a terrific 4k break effectively put the frame out of my reach. One last race gave Me a chance to put some respect to the score. 3-2
A lovely evening with the Horley lads but a bit disappointing 3-0 up to drop the last 2 legs. Tracy once Again the star. She is playing out of her skin at the moment. With MvcB winning 5-0 the chase for 2nd Place is on.

Old Oak v SPCC B postponed ... (re-arranged for Thurs 11/4/24)Old Oak 3, SPCC B 2 Fortress Oak defences shored up once more ....*Clive 5980, Genette BP (no luck whatsoever for Genette)*Nick 3560, Mick 1010 (Nick's best game of the season, no luck for Mick)Martin G 3680, *Martin P 2250 (a good battle, Martin G easing away at the end)*Paul 2530, Pete 3930 (Pete got 1k ahead halfway through and that's how it stayed)*Rebecca 110, Denise 3420 (Denise making the score-line respectable for our illustrious visitors)
Match played in a torrid atmosphere (pub packed due to a funeral wake, Martin P and Paul both getting nudged from behind by revellers going back and forth to the beer garden) Great to see the return of our captain, straight back into the saddle with a win. Nice evening spent with friendly opponents.
