Redhill B 3, Lewes 4*Tom 5030, Huw 3440 (Huw played well and made the early running, Tom overhauled him in 3 breaks) Jim 1030, *Jan 6870 (Jan excellent throughout) Fritz 3060, *Colin 3380 (Colin uncharacteristically losing a 2k by feathering the ball off the break to give Fritz a chance but to no avail) *Anita 6930, Dave 3700 (Anita like Tom did it in three good breaks) Alex 4010, *Ric 5730 (Ric off to a good start, Alex always under pressure) Tommo 3660, *Chase 3960 (Chase handled the pressure better than me, with one ball left potted it for 100 to deny me attempt at 200 for a tie) *Nev 4610 Richard 4400 (Nev a good start, but Richard came to life halfway through with a 3k break, then Nev able to finish off) So Fortress Salfords breached despite good chances in three of their four break games. Well done Lewes, on face value worthy of their victory. Worth mentioning that a lady top-scored on both sides ! Scary moment when Jim got a bit of food stuck, Alex having to perform the Heimlich manoeuvre ....

Well an interesting night at the Locomotive. Colin off early and Tony playing well made the running, both players had the break back a couple of times and it was all about level with about 2 minutes left when Colin got them back again and crawled over the line. Worthing captain took a calculated gamble on the next but James off with less than 1k, Chris balls back and made a good 6600 break to make sure, James got them back and this time did get going but all to no avail. Gamble did not come off and now thinking the worst with Steve Beach and Mr H to come and two break games needed to win it. Rick built a 3k lead, Kayliegh eventually got the balls back and made a very good 2k break, Rick balls back to make sure of the win and maintaining his 100% record. Steve normally very reliable on the Locomotive pegged his opener, Dave balls back but lost his opener as well. Steve balls back off at 900, Dave built a lead but Steve on the table when the bar went. Worked it round to needing the red in the 200 to win but went high, Dave made sure of the 100 first time to keep the match alive. Roger off early but got the break back twice more to build a lead which he kept throughout to level the match. Next Littlehampton`s captain to have both teams looking puzzled when John`s name went down rather then Mr H. Dave though off early and then it turned into a top of the table battle and with the scores very close John got the break back, off at about 1400 with a 1200 lead and 2 minutes left. Dave got them back and made sure. to give Worthing the match win. Mr H off at 2.5k, me balls back but at 1500 spun the white out on the one up leaving both up. Mr H 3k and touch, I got them back but ran out of time. Nice sausage and chips to finish. With Lewes beating Redhill B we now see with 6 games played 3 teams on 8 points and all on the same legs difference of won 24 and lost 18 with 2 games to go.

Brighton A 5-2 Redhill A **Kevin Hall 8910 - 6360 Michael Wilson - Kev off early after a missed break but first to get them back and build an 8k lead with a nice break. the bandana bandit feeling better after his bout of tonsilitis looked in good form but ran out of time. By the end of the night he would prove to be one of the better players on the top for the visitors Jim Millward 11,440 - 130 Dave Jones** - Dave started brightly but lost his break when he missed the ball off the right hand cushion. Jim balls straight and looking in great form but a kick on nearly 5k ended the break. However he was first to get them back and no further problems for a comfortable win Matthew Knight 3140 - 7870 Geoff Jukes** - Geoff off early after whipping a one up out, I got them straight back so a great chance but fluffed it after being unable to recover from a missed break shot. Geoff next to get them back and make a solid break to get the visitors on the board **Bob Hall 7730 - 6640 Gary Powell - Bob next for us and a little ragged, needing 3 breaks to make his score. Gary had got them back previously but a kick, or a shocking break shot, depending on your point of view had ended that break very early. With time running out Gaz needed about 7k in the last 7 or so minutes, he gave a good go but a whipped one up costly and Bob scraped home to a "murderous" win Chris Tupper 3960 - 4300 John Slee** - the newbies up next and Sleezy looking good from the start but a mistake in going off the cushion and missing the ball curtailed his opener. A bit of a thriller from then on as Tupps got himself nearly 4k in front with time running out, unfortunately a one up came inside and that left John an opening. He was really struggling to get both balls in on the break but some lovely recovery shots played at speed meant he edged in front as the bar went, he was also struggling with adding the break onto his score! He needn't have worried as he had made enough to pull one back for the visitors Phil Osborne 13,270 - 1500 Colin Robbins** - Colin had been one of the star players at the Merstham Club in the first match, so more was expected, not to be this time as he was off early and the Oz made an awesome (no 1) 9k break, never looking in any trouble, to give us the match **Nigel Senior 10,320 - 1270 Dave Constable - captain on last for us, pressure off and an awesome (no 2) 10k opener, also without a moments worry giving Dave no chance and improving our frame score Great night with Redhill as always and a good win for us, result elsewhere went in our favour too. In our own hands now but some tough fixtures to come

Aves have been updated but League tables not so, Stuart ! (We are now on Played 6). Cheers, tommo League tables all looked correct when I looked last night, with the top 3 teams all having played 6 games....? The top of Division 2 could not be closer with 3 teams tied with the same number of points and legs, while Littlehampton could also move within 2 points if they win their game in hand while the other teams have their byes. It looks like we will have an exciting end to the season.
