Windmill GG 3, Roffey SSC B 2 Michael 9500, Hoppo 930 Graham 2390, Stu C 3310 Johnny 1130, Iain T 2870 Tommo 5460, Melvyn 3440 Paul J 3800, Dick 2190
Eventful match of fluctuating fortunes. Game 1. Hoppo unlucky to spill scores on his first two visits, Michael taking full advantage. 1-0 Game 2. Nervy start from both players, both struggling to get a rhythm going as the ball kept moving off the new white spot on the new D: one miscue from Graham on the break shot (!) cost him, Stuart keeping all he scored being the difference. 1-1 Game 3. Seve pegged his opener, Johnny balls back straight away and going well on nearly 3k when a ball came back fast onto a peg. Seve then knuckled down and nothing went for Johnny after that. 1-2 Game 4. What can I say ? Mel was playing me off the table and I was 3k behind with less than half the game left. Finally I got 'em back and touched when 1k ahead with a minute left. The leave for Mel was less than kind and I added a few more at the end. 2-2 Game 5. Even steven this one, the players trading blows and Paul making the most of a good chance when it came to seal a surprise victory. 3-2 Some amusing phone banter with Michael keeping in touch with Jemima and receiving a running commentary on the Cricketers match.
Many thanks to our opponents for the sporting contest. All the best to the missing Tony Franks as he recovers after his long-awaited knee surgery.

Rssc 5 Alfold Sc 0
Moose 5730 Malcolm 1220 John 8000 Dave 350 Twig 3370 Chaz 2320 Pete 2520 Mick 920 Moose 9110 Kelly 1680 (Moose 4 player )
First on Moose and Malc. Major unfortunately underhitting break gave Lee an early opportunity and he Made 2k. The game then got a bit bogged down with plenty of goes and pegs. Eventually Moose got over His frustrations and one more decent break sealed it
Game 2 Me and Dave "Again" .Dave looking positive till a 50 whipped and off. I got them back and on 4k Ended up with a tricky ball so tapped up. A few more goes each and l managed to clear the balls and Another 3k added.
Third on Twig and Chaz. Chaz playing well with small breaks got to a 2k lead and you could see the frustration On Skipper's face. Eventually Twig getting his act together and caught up with next clearance vital. Lucky For skipper it was him and a 1k was enough to steal it. Phew.
Next on Pete and Mick and what a struggle both players on and off numerous times trying their best to Pot a few balls.Pete grafting out enough in the end.
Last but not least Kelly and Moose for his second leg. Kelly in good form this season looked confident And started pretty well. Moose determined to put game 1 behind him looked a different character and A Good 4k break gave him the start he needed. A couple of more sound efforts and it was game over.
A Good result for us much needed to try and keep tabs with other's. A lovely evening as always with the Alfold team.
