As I have suggested earlier there was a possibility that I may have to move the All England Individuals forward a week to the 30th September along with the ladies county champs. I have now decided that this will be necessary mainly due to the good news Bob Chapple has said he is likely to come and represent Guernsey in the Individuals. This will ease the pressure on the 7th October where we will now have only the All England Ladies and the Division 3 County Championship competitions.
Please inform all All England representatives of this change.

Not trying to sound funny or anything here, but to be honest, if you are changing the date of this competition, then it should be up to you to inform all the county secretaries of this. The amount of people who use this forum is quite small considering the amount of people who play and if someone from a particular county doesn't see this post then they will miss out and that will be a big mess for everyone......

Milhouse, that is exactly what I intend to do, I am just trying to get the ball rollling here. Thanks to my previous thread I know all but two of the actual finalists for this event, of which several use this site, and if they can put a reply on here saying they have seen this thread and no about the change of date it saves me the hassle of chasing them up. I was aware that just leaving this thread up would not inform everyone I need to of this decision.

Nigel,
It should still be OK for the county side on the 23rd but will have to confirm with Phil Buckle re the 30th?? Hopefully the lady, Denise Parcell, will still travel on the 7th but she was hoping to go with Phil??
Do you know what is happening re the Team Champs. as we normally have to register names prior to August 1st, but have not received any communication from the secretary??

Thanks Keith, Please check with Phil and Denise re their All England Singles, but they will be on seperate dates now. Remember if they can't attend the runners up should be invited. Let me know if they are still attending Re Team Champs, I will speak to Dave Alder re registration, but the date for that competition will still be 21st Oct Nigel

I can confirm, ( if you haven't spoken to Chris Saville ), that Kent will be sending 2 teams to the County Championships. The A team on the 23rd sept, and the B team in D3 on the 7th Oct

Nigel,
Really struggling with the ladies rep as our winner is away that weekend. We only had four entrants so it might be tough. When the latest you need to know by??
Phil is OK for the open singles.
What is the official address of the Post Office Club because one of my team is travelling direct from another location and needs to sat nav it??

Here is the address
Reading Post Office Sports & Social Club, 6, Richfield Avenue, READING, RG1 8EQ
With re the Ladies Singles I will leave it open as long as possible but if I could know a week before the tournamnet that you have a lady that would be a great help.

Nigel,
I think the phrase is "its all gone t**** up. Not only can't I find a lady for October 7th I am having to withdraw the team from this Sunday. I started with a list of twelve which was reduced to five got it back to six but now I have hurt my back so we can not field more than five. Sorry to leave it so late but only on Monday I thought I had eight. Phil is still OK (at the moment) for the open singles.

I agree, it's a great shame, Keith, that Cambridge won't be fielding a team for the County Championships this year.
Especially after doing so well last year - second in Div Two, you had a realistic chance of going one better and "making the big time". 8-)
We had heard too that young Johnny George was in line for a call-up, and it would have been his chance to shine - and earn some National ranking points. Now he won't get the chance.
