A good evening at the Mariner for the home team. The Bevy were good company but a bit wayward without their captain. Mark 5670 v Liam 750 DJ 3180 v Brian 2870 Steve 2460 v Ellis BP Bob 2590 v Doug 1100 Darren 2430 v Zoey 1460 A nice 5-0 for the Mariner boys.

" Think it’s your team mates fault that beer was 6% not 3 🤣🤣 "
Sure Mr Tupper and co would not do that to their captain or maybe they would

Blue Anchor 3-2 Stags Head C **Rick Cunningham 10,630 - 6520 Stuart Mepham - Rick getting easily to 5k before missing on the break as the red fell off the spot Stuart got them straight back but was off after one missed 20 split which was a bit of a shocker to be fair, no more chances as Rick cleared and made sure giving him a good win and us a good start Matthew Knight 110 - 12,150 Bob Hall** - in form Bob playing on one of his favourite tops easily to 6k before a thick split and behind the 50 and off. Couple of awful attempts from me to get them back (including a black peg) and Bob made sure next visit 1-1 Joe Oakley 0 - 12,530 Jim Millward** - Jim didn't look particularly comfortable over hitting a couple of one-ups and having to play a couple of rescue shots at the back, eventually came a cropper and off on about 4k. One great attempt from Joe got him nothing and Jim got them back, again left one in a bad position behind the 10 but with one of his signature shots off the side cushion, hit it flush and break back next shot for a great clearance. No more chances for Joe and 2-1 to the visitors Plenty of thought before the next leg from the home captain and went with a (big) gut feeling **Chris Cox 11,460 - 110 Grant Tully - decided to go with Coxy for our break leg, thought I might regret it as missed the 100 on his first split excellent recovery and in no danger after that with a great break despite plenty of disrespectful traffic going behind him. Kept his concentration and left GT no chance so onto the decider Tony Jenner 9110 - 8390 Kevin Hall** - Kev looking in good touch made his way to very nearly 8k without much trouble but a short red on the break via a kick and off. Would the real Tony Jenner turn up? Well the Jenneral got them straight back and made a bloomin awesome break of 9110 and touch in perfect time, so I think it is safe to say....he sure did Hardly a moment of anxiety for the watching fans either, only one brief alarm but balls back next shot and that was that for a brilliant win Thank you as always to the Stag for a great night and an ultra competitive but friendly match played in great spirit. I think Mr Millward that gives us the bragging rights for the first time in ages, for now at least and what a break to do it

Great night against class and very sporting opposition. Kev very unlucky to get bad contact when he was cruising to 10k and touch but pleased to get the chance and for once I actually turned up. The Stag very sporting and supportive in their congratulations on out hard earnt win. Perhaps their is some life in the old codger yet

Good performance from the home side but no whitewash thanks to the birthday girl
New Oak A 4 - 1 Caxton
Phil Osborne 15,350 - 280* Sean Oxley Nigel Senior 9,590 - 2,190* Dayle Ledbury Bob Osborne 8,130 - 1,080* Peter Gwilliam Ian Lelliott 8,750 - 2,350* Paul Bramhall Marc Chipman 1,640 - 6,320* Michelle Baden
Chippers in trouble before the match started - firstly he smashed his cue into a 3 piece cue and thought it might be amusing to present me a 'mended' cue with gaffa tape wrapped round and he was going to use that. Then after telling me we were at the Caxton to which I corrected him saying we were at home, he then proceeded to head to the Caxton...good start!
But the Osborne boys were ruthless on the table scoring 24k between them and me and Ian also took wins to put us 4-0 up. Then entered the birthday girl Chelle Baden to take on Chippers in the last game. Chelle kicked off with a nice 6k, Chippers roaring back with 0.6k. but he was using a new cue. So the final score 4-1 to us
Good night with the Caxton boys. We now prepare for a potential league decider against the Wellie on Monday the 18th. I will remind Chippers that we are at HOME for that one.
