Roffey CC 1, Windmill GG 4 Mick Fairs 5200, Clive Thompson 2280 Tony Clasby 920, Paul Jobbins 5090 John Tidy 2680, Michael Wilson 4740 Jim Balchin 1720, Mick Holmwood 4820 Dave Sands 1550, Graham Daniels 3790
Table throwing up its usual challenges, which we were mostly able to cope with but with the help of lady luck very firmly on our side. Captain's own shortcomings compensated for by his very competent teammates.

Plough 3 Rssc A 2 Noggs 3320 Twig 3060 Mark 3550 Steve 3480 Dave 2310 Pete 1570 Steve 1790 John 3630 Chelsea 1650 Moose 2190
Quite an evening at the Plough !!!
Game one Good Buddies and doubles partners Noggs and Twig. Twig on first but soon off caught out by the speed Of the top left one up short. Lots of goes each till Noggs got them back and added a few. Twig next to get them back But still couldn't get going. Time running out the leg was neck and neck. Who would have that bit of luck. Last ball game And twigs first go. Just slid by and Keith first Time down.
Next on Mark and Sniffer. Steve off pretty confident till his first shot on the left hand 50 careered right. The game Following the first leg pattern with players on players off struggling. Steve eventually gaining a late upper hand till Mark Found some great last shots cleared all but one . Phew. Scores totted up he needed the 200. First attempt clean as a Whistle. 2 down a bit unlucky.
Third on Dave and Pete and what a frame. I have never witnessed so many goes in 18 mins not pretty. Dave just doing Enough to stay in front. One last rally from Pete almost pinched it but dave ground a few out at the end. 3-0. Surely our Luck must change .
Game 4 and like the home leg me and Steve. Determined to sort the top out. Thickish break, clout the one up but play After that help. Off on 1k. Here we go shot after shot, with time rolling by I just had my nose in front. Steve balls back But after not long off. Back on I managed to clear up to one ball between the 100 & 200. Off the cush but an incredible Poor shot all but wiped the black out. Steve missed and one last crash and hope saw both balls fly to the top and down. A most steady, boring 2k on the 50's somehow got our first leg.
Last but not least rematch Chelsea and Moose. Moose still "Chundering" how Chelsea ground him to pieces on Roffey Determined to put the record straight. What a leg with both players trying there best to conquer the top but no. Loads Of goes and pegs till eventually the Bar was the saviour for players to endure. Frame over Moose victorious-just.
What an evening plenty of friendly banter. No luck for us losing 2 last ball games. Table tricky break OK one up OK after That "Lap of the God's. No sour grapes but definitely the "Windmills title to lose".

Roffey SSC B 3 Railway 2
Dick 2600 Colin 620 Mel 1900 Lee 1490 Iain 2680 Dave 6810 Hoppo 5330 Grant 2340 Dick (4PR) 610 Scott 1580
Game 1: Absolutely nothing going for Colin all game until the end where he played the table out for 620. Dick kept most of what he scored. Game 2: Close game, Mel just enough in front of Lee at the end. Game 3: Dave had the measure of this one, Iain fighting a cold as well. Game 4: Grant started well. Hoppo shifted up a gear midway. Game 5: A Nailbiting game for all the wrong reasons. Both players lost a 3k5 break to set up a final scramble for points at the end. Scott racked up just enough to claim the win. Dick on 4PR
An entertaining evening at the Roffey Club with a fair bit of chat. Many thanks to the club for a fine spread of sandwiches.
