A brilliant team performance saw Brighton win the Division 1 One Day Interleague at Burgess Hill Constitutional Club yesterday, regaining the title we last won in 2022. We were probably not favourites on paper and had a bad start with Kev Hall pulling our unwell during the first series. However the team really stepped up with Jim in outstanding form winning 11.5 points (out of 12) and being the top point scorer of the whole day. Bob was not far behind with 11 points playing brilliantly all day. Nigel and captain Matt with 10 points each both won all of their matches on aggregate. Tupps was as dependable as ever with a very solid 8 points. He told me beforehand he would definitely win at least one leg in each of his matches, true to his word he did that and more. Phil finished on 7 points which was a great effort after a slow start. Last, but most definitely not least, the incredible Sandra, she kindly stepped in to replace Kevin and supplied 2 brilliant points in a raucous match v our old friend John Slee, winning the second leg and taking the aggregate. Thank you to Jean for her hard work running the competition and supporting us throughout the day. unbeatable team spirit with no little skill seeing us home
