The AGM will be on Wednesday 24th July 2024 at 8.30 pm. At The Hassocks.

Any rule change proposals need to be with Jan for 3rd July for a committee meeting on the 7th.

Three rule change proposals have been received.



 Rule 12 additional wording



Currently rule 12 states:



The visiting team shall have the odd number breaks and the home team the even number breaks.

After registration, if there is only one division, the committee will divide the teams into two sections, upper and lower. When teams from the same section are playing the breaks will be as normal. When the lower section teams play upper section teams the lower section section will have all the breaks on away games.



It is proposed to add:

The committee may also decide that a team (or teams) should be designated as being a neutral section team. This would mean that they would not have all the away breaks when playing upper section teams, but lower section teams would not have all the away breaks when playing a neutral section team.



Ros has added by way of explanation:

In the past, when there were two divisions there would often be a ‘yo-yo’ team, who would be promoted one year and relegated the year after. It would be hard to classify that sort of team in either the upper or lower sections. I have deliberately avoided using the word ‘middle’, because in the recent past there have been three stronger teams and 2 weaker ones, with a fairly clear divide between them. So I was not wanting to suggest that a mid-table team should be automatically entitled to this new status.

A player who has had a break in the singles or doubles should be prevented from having a second break in the match.

A brief Report of the MSBBL AGM 24-7-2024 @ The Hassocks

Minutes of last year’s AGM were accepted with no matters arising.
The Financial Report was explained well and accepted with no matters arising.
Team Enrolment Fees stays @ £30 (except HHSC free as they had won the Quiz).

Competition Fees will be £1 per person/ per competition.

Life Vice-Presidents – L Hall, G Sparksman, T Gasson, T Peacock.
(NB G Sparksman replaced John Lear RIP as LVP)
Election of Officers went smoothly:-
President – A Farmer-Wright
Chair – D Taylor
Vice-Chair – D Tiffin (previously a Player Committee Member)
Secretary – J Coomber
Treasurer – J Coomber
Fixtures Sec – I Giffen
Competitions Sec – D Taylor
Player Committee Member – P Moyes-Robb

No decisions made regarding any of the Interleague Teams, so the Committee to decide and action accordingly.
