Here are the qualifiers for the 2007 Grand Prix. Pauline Withey has opted to play in the Ladies Grand Prix and therefore will not take part in the Open Grand Prix. Players that have confirmed as attending are shown, could those who have not confirmed whether they are attending or not please do so, so the reserve can be invited. Tournament is on the Sunday, 2nd December Myself and KT are joint first so will draw for the number 1 and 2 seedings on the day, Richard Wooton and Tony Webster also have identical records and if they end up joint 16th will be invited to play off on the day of the main competition before it starts.
Qualifiers (points in brackets)

There must be a day between now and the 2nd when you can have a play off - surely with all the events on the go at the moment ?

I think me and KT have enough games to play ;) Being first or second seedings won't make much difference, you will still get a tough group as you can see from the names of the qualifiers.

Nige, I can confirm I will be there. Paul Thanks Paul. We now have 16, all we are waiting for is Trevor Gallienne to confirm whether he is attending or not. He phoned me a couple of days ago to say he is very keen to play in England for the first time but he is checking whether he has work commitments. It would be great if our new World Champ could be there. If Trevor does attend we will require a play off between Tony Webster and Richard Wooton, I should see them both this weekend and we can discuss when it should be played. Thanks to everyone who has been very quick to confirm they are playing, I am chuffed that we have a confirmed 16 over a week before the competition.

Looking at that list of players, whoever comes out on top can most definitely say: -
I AM THE BEST OF THE BEST
Good luck to all 16 players who are taking part.

My tips for the gorups as as follows:
A - Nigel then Steven (but with results and postings on here the match between them could be the group winner)
B - Kevin then Ray (If the tables are tricky then I would favour Ray as I have seen him play the trickiest of tables better than most. The game between them will be a crunch)
C - Mark Brewster then not so easy here this group looks wide open to me if they play on tricky tables
D - Phil Collins then Leon but could be reversed depending on their results between each other
If my county pool match finishes early in Oxford I might try and come down for the a few hours as there look like some great matches here.
Whats the time table look like ?

Timetable fornext Sunday is 11am start for Over 50/60
Grand Prix starts 1.20
Finals to start (hopefully) around 7.30pm
Be aware it is a late finish, but we do have 4 competitions to complete!
