Pete, I'm not a moderator but this has to be said. Nine posts in an hour this morning, all of them of a slightly abusive nature. :o None of them really adding to the debate. Did you get out of the wrong side of the bed ? ::) ;) We know you don't mean it half the time, but it could be turning members off this forum.

Was there a debate on this thread to add to? ;) Well, there wasn't, but you've started one now. My 'beef' is that our Apprentice Master, in his haste to add his input to all threads on the go - known as "spamming" in the trade - (I'm guilty of it too I suppose) sometimes causes important issues to become sidelined as other people can't be bothered to wade through and separate the wheat from the chaff. At least I try and sow a few seeds for discussion, but recently (today at any rate) I've seen nothing but chaff. This could develop into a mass debate if we're not careful. ;D(steps back and awaits predictable response.) ::)

I will behave, honest. But well counted, didn't know it was that many. Didn't know you were that touchy! Sorry again.

This could develop into a mass debate if we're not careful. ;D(steps back and awaits predictable response.) ::) No real response darling, but I cannot apologise for responding to anything in this thread because it is titled: "FTAO Fazza" I know that I have been online more this week only because I have been off work to decorate my extended lounge. It will be back to normal from Tuesday. Once again. sorry. But, before I get back to the wallpaper hanging, I must just add that the three-way volleyball you, me and that (totally un)reformed character had the other day seemed quite enjoyable.

But still not intending to upset you.... also apologies for successive posts here, but I do still struggle with including two or more quotes in the same post. Sorry Sorry Sorry

Alright I'm sorry too.
It was just that for once it would have been nice to have your viewpoint on whether or not an idea had come up with was viable, without entering discussion on whether I am old, young, fat, ugly, can play or not or have a small or large peni$.
Perhaps you I and Lorin should have a group hug. ;D On second thoughts......... ;)

Just sifting back through for something worth picking up on and at the same time pretty innocuous. Found this : I know that I have been online more this week only because I have been off work to decorate my extended lounge. Extended lounge, eh, Pete ? What haven't you been telling us ? That you're getting your own bar billiards table ? 8-) Or is it to accomodate an extra cabinet for all those trophies ? :o Don't dwell too long on a reply, don't want to keep you too long from your wallpaper-hanging duties. ;)

The extension was built in 1988, just waited till now to point it out as I did not want you to think I was decorating too slowly. It is 23x16 or something and takes 11 rolls, but I have had a few problems which I do not wish to go into for fear of emotional problems surfacing in my typing finger. NO bar billiards table though. When you are already a masterbaker, you don't buy bread. (I will pause while you read that again)
Extra cabinets would be handy, but have been gradually storing all the ones won locally before 1999 in boxes in the garage for a while, for obvious reasons. One day, they could all be yours, once I get into the e-bay codswallop.
And finally, must get on as I only have two days left of my "holiday"

Quality post, Pete, love the quote about when you are already a master baker you don't buy bread. :D I was actually feeling sorry for you and the enormous journey you have to make for a game. A table in the back room could save you a fortune. But then as you say, you don't need any practise. We've had ours for a year now and it is like living in bar billiards heaven ! The wife used to like us to go out on a Saturday night and find a pub with table and play it all night. Over the years we used the Fountain, the Sun, the Windmill. One by one these handy 'locals' lost their tables - even the Apple Tree last year - so now it's like having our own pub without the responsibilities...we can have a game any time we like. And anyone from the b/b world passing by our house is welcome to knock on the door and come in and have a free game or two.
As regards trophies, isn't it strange that we all enjoy winning them, and then reach a certain point (having acquired a hundred or more) when they don't seem to have so much meaning any more. A lot of top player keep 'em upstairs in suitcases or banish them to the loft. And I remember Gail Woods shocking me when she said she'd chucked a load of hers into a skip. :'( Wifey and I have been a bit kinder to ours, those earned this century only are on display in a glass cabinet - but it's already getting to where there's very little space left. :-[

Excuse me cutting up your post Clive. As my teammates could testify, I do not spend too much when I go to Oxford (don't drink and the petrol is on my employers). It is just the travelling time involved. The practice bit (note c not s unless it is a verb, I thought) was not meant to sound big-headed, but it is just not me. I get fed up unless there is anything at stake. In my (much) younger days, the whole team practised together on a Sunday night, but now that would wear me out. My mate has a table and I can use it when I want to, I just don't want to. But you are right about trophies, they are just dust-gatherers now. Come to think about it, could KT let us know how big the removal van was????

I have a long way to go, I have 3 :( Hopefully Berks Open ;D :D Yeah, after Sunday, you could have 3!!!! excuse me for ribbing please ;) To avoid another needless post, I will award Clive 10/10 for his spelling of "separate" in the post below this one, by way of a slight modification. I need to point that out in case Johnny thinks I am being a bit psychic, and guessing what the next post will say.......

[ The practice bit (note c not s unless it is a verb, I thought) Thank you for that tip. I actually scored 100% when gaining my 'O'Level in English Language - but it was forty years ago. ::) Another word I seem to have a lot of trouble with is "separate".
