I've just seen an email sent by our chairman regarding the sad death of Peter Marshall from the Conservative Club.
On behalf of the Coach and Horses team I would like to express our condolences to Peter's family and to all his friends at the Conservative Club.
Peter will be remembered for the spirit in which he led his team, and despite receiving the Golden Peg on several occasions, for playing the game of Bar Billiards with a smile in victory or defeat, a lesson we could all follow.

Certainly does.
To my mind, Peter was the reason that the Con Club were able to carry on from year to year, thanks to his efforts in rallying the players for each new season; and taking great delight in being a part of a team which scaled new heights in terms of achievement! No other side has, or will, match the achievement of these stout heroes in picking up the Golden Peg for 5 consecutive years. And the manner in which this "achievement" was greeted was always a joy to behold.
Peter was also the living personification of their ethos. He always went out believing that he could win, tried hard to do so with steely determnation - but if he did not, was gracious in defeat. I have always held a deep respect for the Con Club - and therefore for Peter Marshall. Respect, Peter. Thanks for being a part of it.

Peter's funeral was a very nice service in the church.
Some stories about him were told by an old friend, one of an incredible 150 plus that attended.
Obviously through all his hobbies and charity work he was a very well known and respected man.
sadly missed. Rest in Peace
