HRP, to take Keith to 3 games is worth a Tia in itself as he is now MCP Div1. Just think as all the rest of the matches as a practice session and you will alll be fine. Tell BFG he must get a 7k at least in 1 game or I will be offended as he always manages it against me. How is nipper doing?

I`d just like to say what a well organised weekend. Thoroughly enjoyed myself (even without playing) cheering on Lady H :-* who defended her Ladies singles title in great style. She also won the Mixed doubles with Lord Cheeky, but i think her best acheivement of the weekend was reaching the semi finals of the Open singles where she came up against a very good player in Alan Shaw. Well done my hunny ;) Well done to the Captain Morgan club & the organisers for managing to stage the competitions at all, all that rain you know :o I will put this text especially in pink for TTO, nbf x

;D ;D ;D Thanks for the comments guys it's most appreciated. I actually enjoyed the weekend very much despite TTO and young Turner playing football around my makeshift bed at midnight +. Thankfully the timetable went more or less to plan and that make the many late night hours of preparation. Still at least the software is written now so it will be as easy next year won't it? :-/ :-/
Thanks to honchair for stepping into the control tower whilst I was playing
Thanks to TTO who did a fantastic job extracting money from all the punters (the job is yours for life)
Thanks to Dave Hampton for the quality of the tables which apart from mechanical failure were as good as they have ever played.
Special thanks to Roger and his staff at the Captain Morgan who pulled out all the stops to make sure the weekend could go ahead. I think this years layout of tables was better than before.
You'll have to bare with me for the results until I have unpacked and sifted the million bits of paper I came back with. I will post results asap
It only remains to say that "I call on the Bar Billiard people of West Sussex to assemble in a years time (probably in Selsey) where we will make the next WSBBL Knockout Weekend the best ever"
Must now go for a nap, only 725 to go ::) ::) ::)

I have to echo all the comments made today about the West Sussex Bar Billiard Weekend it was pretty dam good. Excellently run thanks to Alan Shaw and helpers, and have to agree that the position of the tables this year was a lot better than previous years long may it continue.

Totally agree about position of tables, once the two had been moved from the large room the layout was very good. Any chance it can be like that again next year? (hopefully by then they will have sorted out the tables themselves? Cushions and mechanisms) Thanks Alan, considering the problems that kept presenting themselves it all went pretty smoothly. The booklets with planned matches was brill idea too.

And one more point the idea of the free raffle ticket on the score cards was excellent a good incentive to get more people scoring which i thought was very good over the weekend.

Considering the state of the function room at the Morgan, it's a miracle we had somewhere to play!
Have to say that the lack of accommodation was a serious downer, but those who decreed that a bar floor was an alternative seemed happy enough! 8-)
Alan Shaw is a hero; flawless organisation and getting to the final of the IKO. Loads of hard work and careful preparation meant that whenever asked, I could take over so he could go batter some unfortunate soul. ::)
Venue, staff, volunteers, facilities - all tip-top and totally splendid.
I do have one moan though - and will take this further.
Given the amount of money it costs to have those 6 tables on site, you would think that at regular intervals, things like cushions;; just as a "for instance" might get a little TLC. Those tables do seem to be becoming a rather unnecessary running joke. We all know which ones to avoid, or which ones have dodgy quirks - but should we tolerate it? Tarratt provide a service, which we pay for. In return, surelt it's not asking too much for the competition standard tables we hire, to actually fit the bill? ::)

Am speaking as one of those 'battered, unfortunate souls', Alan did an excellent job over the weekend and managed to play excellently. 8-) He even displayed a wonderful sense of humour when he 'toyed' with me and the end 100 shot!! :P He was also a true Gent offering to start our semi final match again when the balls in table 6 eventually refused to come down because of a falty/loose bar and this was when we were about half way through our game. :-* (No, I didn't take him up on the offer, he had already wapped my a** and so deserved to win) ;) Honchair, I agree with you about poorly maintained tables but I have to admit I like to play on a table that has a querk to work out ::) >:( ;D Many thanks for a fab weekend especially to all those who put their time into making it great fun for the rest of us. H.xxx
