oh dear. how did i let a diamonds fan sneak into the exiles. must be more careful in future ;) ;D He needs to be shown the error of his ways. we have been getting more at home games than diamonds have this season, the reason Sats attendance was low was due to Workington only bringing 2 people, and, if you look at how many diamonds fans went to Oxford last night compared to how many Kett fans went ot Redditch, I rest my case 8-)

If it was, it was very meaningless as far as I am concerned. After travelling from Rushden to Oxford that evening, I was asked if I had seen many cars following me. I really didn't know what he was talking about as I had no idea they were playing each other. I have no interest in football in any way these days. Any interest I ever had died twenty years ago when so much money was pumped into the "sport" allowing so many over-inflated egos and overpaid prats into our community without need of a brain. Just because I live in Rushden, why do you think I have any interest in football? Does everybody living in Twickenham have an interest in Rugby? Now there is a real sport! Yeah, I know there is now more money in Rugby, but they EARN it and still don't allow themselves to get slated in the tabloids for their behaviour. Name me ONE football player with the sense and humility of Jonny Wilkinson, for example. Up the Northampton Saints!

[Name me ONE football player with the sense and humility of Jonny Wilkinson, for example. Teddy Sheringham. By coincidence I was about to name him when DA beat me to it. I was impressed by a story I once heard which was the Teddy had left his gleaming new Porsche parked in New Cross - a rough area of London at the time. He returned to find a group of youths milling round it, and instead of getting nasty smiled and cracked jokes and signed autographs for them all. A true gentleman of the game.

I obviously don't know him as well as DA (would like to) and your(good)self. So, conceded, name me TWO football players etc etc.

And what's so good about Wilkinson then? There are some nice footballers around I'm sure, just 'cos they play football in your eyes makes them pillocks? 8-)
It's all about money will be your answer, well Pete, i know that like me you enjoy cricket, well, these 'poor' cricketers will do anything for money as well, just look towards India, and remember Kerry packer?

[/quote] Rugby players will always tend to get injured, whether they are Gentlemen or not, because it is a tough sport. Not for namby-pamby "pillocks" (your word not mine, I don't know what it means). Money is coming into cricket more and I fear that it could well spoil it. Very much admire Pietersen for saying NO to India, so far anyway. The other big problem in football is "Cheating" though. That is, "accidentally" falling over to try to get a free kick or penalty. Tell me that never happens. Rugby players at least give referees respect and what they say GOES. Forget who said it but "Football is a game for gentlemen played by louts, Rugby is a game for louts played by gentlemen." How true! Modified: Don't know how I got the quotes wrong, but you know what I meant to say

No idea what Peetee is trying to say.
Take the dummy out of your mouth (well I hope it is a dummy, but if you have been in Oxford's red light district, it may be something else) and speak up mate.
Just telling us what I have already said (twice) is not very productive.
Spit it out........ the dummy that is!
