In September 2008 the Worthing & District Bar Billiards League are celebrating the 50th Anniversary of their formation.
How have other leagues celebrated their notable achievements

CONGRATULATIONS to the Worthing League on its forthcoming Golden Jubilee. 8-)
I believe Horsham are approaching a Diamond Jubilee (IanG will be able to confirm that.)
In answer to your question, Dave, I recall that the Redhill League celebrated their Golden Jubilee in 1998, and Simon Tinto brought out a publication called "A 50-year History of the Redhill League" which is packed with interesting (to us, anyway !) data.
I believe the league also sponsored an issue of polo/sweat shirts with the relevant logo, and people are still to be seen wearing them from time to time.
Billingshurst have been running their Jubilee Team Knockout competition in the close season for a number of years. I'm not sure which Jubilee year it refers to, but I believe that someone donated a Perpetual Cup to mark the occasion.
Hope this is of some help, at least.

The City Bar Billiard League here in Medway was formed in 1947, and at it's height had 4 leagues with 18 teams in each league. We are now playing with 10 teams, but still going and we have 2 players recently retired, and 1 player still active who have played for 50 seasons in our League.
