Dyke B 2 Schooner 3
An excellent evening at the Dyke on a table that is a pleasure to play, very hard for the home side to give five breaks to a first division side, but match went all the way to the last. Good company, sandwiches and chips at the end, and then some 31`s to finish.
Dave Anscombe opened with a steady 7k against Moppy leaving only 5 minutes of playing time, so a winning break. Believe this is Daves highest break. 3640 - 7160
Rick ( slightly worse for wear ) Cunningham never got going, Terry Coughlan built a 3k lead on his first visit and steadly built on this to end with a respectable 15690-1340 1-1
Arthur Brewster opened with 1k, Terry ( I never moan ) Molloy chased around to no avail, Arthur added another 2k, before Terry got break back, touched up with enough as the bar went. 8000-3690. 2-1.
Tony Jenner against Terry Race. TJ after hitting the break too thick at the second go, but managing to sink one ball, had to play a couple of risky shots to retrieve the break, and from then on looked comfortable before touching up on 11980 opener. Terry played the rest of time left. 3790 -11980 2-2
Bill Kerr opened with 7k against Mick Hall, and was first to retrieve the break, adding another 5k before turning to smile at TJ, just to say anything you can do, hey thats life. 740 - 12670 and a hard fought 3-2 win for the Schooner.

Montreal 2 -3 Brewery Tap A
The Montreal put up a very good fight against the champions elect, and could have won all 5 games as the three tap winners could have easily ended up losing
Mick Barsby 3,240* - 6,440 Richard Wooton Trevor Hocking 2,280* - 4,510 Nigel Senior Gary Mechan 5,370* - 4,590 Marc Chipman Bob Mechan 6,360* - 4,340 Gareth Lloyd Steve Burns 3,930* - 10,390 Chris Reeves
Game 1 – Mick made 1k at the start and Richard pegged his opening visit when a thin break ended up resulting in the red taking out the white peg. Mick extended his lead but Richard finally settled to win the first game.
Game 2 – Probably jet lagged from Guernsey Nigel really struggled against Trevor who would have won if he had not pegged 2 breaks probably worth around 4k. Nigel only got the balls back on 13 mins but made a 3k break, which was a little all over the place but it put the Tap 2-0 up.
Game 3 – Gary played Marc in a cracking 3rd game. After a couple of visits Gary seemed to settle only to put the break down 4 times on a 3kish break. Marc took the opportunity to open a 3k lead only for Gary to come back with 4k to pip him and keep the match alive 1-2
Game 4 – In a similar story to the 3rd game, Gareth got his nose in fron only for Bob to knock in a 5k break to setup a tense decider. 2-2
Game 5 – Steve looked very assured and made 3,700 before leaving the one up short but awkward as it was resting on the cushion. Chris made some great shots to clear, and played extremely well to make 7k before touching to claim the crucial 2 points. 2-3
Well done to the Montreal who very nearly derailed the Tap’s title bid. They have improved a huge amount this season. The Tap dug deep to win and will have to again next week against the Albion as the title goes to the wire due to the Horseshoes beating the Kendal 4-1 last night.

End of season match - last one for the Stadium A who have a bye next week. Not much riding on it for the Dyke either.
Game finished up 4-1 to the Stadium
