Our 12th consecutive league victory...... ;D .....gaining revenge on the last team to beat us ...... ;D ;D.......
Hurst Club 4 Windmill 1
The Old Fella 4830 - 1670 Steve Smith Steve missed his opening break and Roy took a while to get going, but eventually got the balls back and won the game with a couple of 2k breaks. 1-0 ;D
BB Reaper 9000 - 1430 Rodney Storr Kevin opened up with 4k and had a couple more useful breaks in an impressive display, giving Rodney no real chance. Well played Kev! 2-0 ;D ;D
BB Warrior 3960 - 1190 Jan Hinkins An unusual start by Jan, got the break 3 times then touched up leaving both balls within a couple of inches of the red spot.....!! :o ??? I got the balls back at the second attempt, did enough to win the game and then - with the balls ending up in all sorts of unusual places - frankly, lost interest totally! >:( :-X 3-0 ;D ;D ;D
Papa Hall 6400 - 970 Anne Stockinger Pete hit a lovely break of just under 5k, with Anne hitting some nice shots but never able to get close. 4-0 ;D ;D ;D ;D
Bobhall 1130 - 2480 Lynne Storr A solid game from Lynne with Rob lacking his recent good form. 4-1 :(
Usual excellent Bobhall buffet (maybe too much pickle?? :o) to follow with some lessons from the Reaper for players from both teams afterwards....!! ;) 8-)

Sportsman 1 Handcross 4
After the Farmer's treatment of our sub last week (playing the table out!) it was with a certain amount of trepidation that I called in super-sub Anna to cover for Pam, who is still unwell (although now on the road to recovery having now been given the antibiotics she should have had 2 weeks ago)
I needn't have worried, Anna played a lovely accurate game to win our only game of the match. Tony Driver was very unlucky not to prevail against JT.
Barry Timson 1250 Anna Iles 1880 Mick Holmwood 3820 Gary Foster 1830 Tommo 4140 Sir Trevor 1820 John Turner 2110 Tony Driver 2000 Graham Daniels 7230 Ros 1540
Lovely evening, the table was playing beautifully and there was an impressive spread of spicy chicken wings, sausage rolls and pizza - far more than we could manage to eat.

Handcross Z 4, Sportsman 1
Barry Timson 1250, Anna Iles 1880 MrMike007 3820, Gary Foster 1830 tommo 4140, Sir Trevor 1820 John Turner 2110, Tony Driver 2000 Graham Daniels 7240, Aunty Ros 1550
Graham (can no longer be classed "Supersub" as he has played the entire second half of the season) showed that there was nothing really wrong with the table in the last game, after some nervy performances from his teammates.
The Sportsman played well, and very sportsmanlike. Anna played superbly and with accuracy in the first game - her win was no fluke; and Tony Driver was so unlucky not to win after catching JT at the end with a superb break - only to see John pot the last two balls down 20 and 30 to win by 110.
Great company, see you again same time same place on 4th June for a return friendly. ;)

Well done again to Jenny, on a difficult table.
This bizarre result puts the positions back to how they were two weeks ago .... Hurst B 90, CKRBL 89, Zeds 88. And the Greyhound (with a game in hand) are back in it thanks to their 5-0 win.
This one is going to go to the wire:4-way tie for the title, anyone ?

Yes, it's all very close still......!! 8-) ;D Droops lead Hurst Club A in Division 1 by 3 points after last nights games...... :( and have 2 games left against Division 1 opponents. Both of Hurst Club's remaining matches are against Premier teams, so probably harder matches than Droops but with the opportunity to gain some extra bonus points.....!! ;D ;)

Brewers 5 Whitehorse 0 ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
The Brewers dish out some white van man treatment to the Hornless Ones! :D :D
Andy Farmer Wright 4140 J. Quinn 50 ;D Lorraine Hall 1700 B. Coleman 810 :D ;D Me 2730 C. Mansfield 950 ;D Graham Sparksman 3530 G. Garnett 1420 :D ;D ;D Colin Humphrey 2150 Ian Powell 300 ;D ;D ;D
A strange old evening, all in all, both teams struggled a little, with some quite hapless missing of the balls going on from both sets of players, ??? ::) :P this meant that the scores stayed low, but we stayed consistently in front of them. ;) ;) Big Andy leading of in the Captains chair and playing the best of the evening. ;D
Mama Hall uncharacteristically making hard work of dispatching Brian to the losers dugout, :D never really looked like losing it though with Brian all over the place. ::) ::) Me in the third to give us the match against the playing well Col Mansfield, ;) but to no avail he didn't hit heavy enough on his break :P and after a couple of goes I got the break back and slipped in just under 2k, and then followed most of the match placing and moving balls parked up the middle. :-*
Sparky continuing his return of form with a good solid all round display, :P :D steady break building without going mad, although both struggled early on Sparky was fired up and delivered us the 4th. ;D Onto the Nodster on the last and feeling that strange pressure when your 4-0 up and your on last. ??? ::) :D Never really in doubt though with big Ian struggling to get a ball in a hole, ::) noddy pulled steadily away and won comfortably to give us the 5.
A good night, the trough monsters ate well again, table is continuing to play relatively well ::) and the home side look to be slowly gaining in confidence on it again. :P 2 games to go or is it 3 I don't know its all become a blur, ??? ??? but we stayed top and thats the main thing. Great company with some top class barricking from the opposition, answered gratefully in kind by yours truly! :-* :-*

Well done the Droops, another good result for you....... :( Nice to see Andy is maintaining his good run of form and keeping up the chase of the 2 Hurst players - who remain 1st & 2nd in the Players List.....!! ;) ;) ;) Only 2 more games to go young Jock............... I wish it were 3, it would increase our chances of making you RUNNERS-UP........!! :P ;) See you soon my "smiley" friend....... ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Watermill A 2 Hurst B 3
Ady White 810 iang 4450 Kim Stenning 2920 Chris King Bp Norman Cragg 1150 Steve King 740 J Blake 720 Darrell Skinner 2050 John Staplehurst 2840 John Lear 5380
I had a good game best I've played on this table gaetting the break back a few times.
Steve was monstering Big Norm when he played up the left hand side & black pegged it a very bizzare one as he should have been nowhere near it.
John Lear played a supurb game with the best of the night to give us the win & keep us on top.

This has to be the best season for ages with it so close in both Divisions & so many combinations in the player list.
Whoever wins the titles will have deserved it what will we do when it's all over ;D ;D
