Not forgetting as well that the Brit club are looking for a table, a guy from the place was in the Country club at the weekend asking about a table.

I spoke to Ken Hussey at length and he told me that invoices for payment for the tables had been submitted for the Rushden AND Burton Cons Clubs.

Some very good news. The landlord of Crown & Anchor has now decided he WILL buy the Bar Billiards table. I have told him he only has until the end of the month so he will be contacting them today. :-)

Thats Great news about the C&A table.
We do however need to find another buyer for the Headlands table. Any offers will be gratefully received.

Due to personal circumstances, Dave is no longer able to help with the purchase of the table.
Would like to thank him for the initial offer though.

Letters did not go out mate, as we initially thought that we were sorted. I have sent a message to Steve, but we are now very short of time. Only 9 days left before D Day!

So, just for clarification then, what tables are left and what are not safe?

If im right in saying, Rushden Cons, C&A, Burton Cons, Cock (x2) are all safe. Just leaves the purchase of The Headlands table. Plus are the Locomotive (w'boro) rejoining the league?

You are right there Mr Shark, just need to clarify if the Cock has actually purchased it, or a member of the team anyway.
As for the Locomotive, they have their own table already. Not too sure if they are joining the league or not. Think we should send them an entry form for the summer league though.
Remember also that the Brit in Burton Latimer is also buying a table. The team there will consist of mainly old Burton Park Country Club players.

As long as the Headlands can purchase their table sounds like we can have a good number of teams for the next winter league. When is the next Committee meeting? I know last week it got cancelled due to only Steve & Andy turning up.

You are right. Need to see if the boys from the Headlands are prepared to donate towards the table along with donations from other members of the league. The league will also contribute to the purchase.
Next meeting is on June 3rd. Am not too sure of the venue, but will endevour to find out. I will not be able to attend again though as I will be working in the USA that week. ::)

Have you spoken to anyone from Headlands regarding the table? Or shall I get dad (steve) to contact them?

I have sent Steve an e-mail with respect to this, but if he could speak to the 2 teams then that would be a great help.
We must have this resolved by the 31st May otherwise the table will be taken out.
Thanks Ben.

Have just spoken to my Dad (Steve) and he can confirm the Headlands table has now been purchased. So thats all tables now safe! :-) With Regards to the meeting on the 3rd June, has a venue been sorted? If not my Dad says can we hold the meeting at Earls Barton Working Mens Club. It would be nice to see as many people as possible to attend so we can disucss the future of Northants Bar Billiards now that all tables are purchased. Just a reminder that all Summer League Entry forms need to be in by the meeting.

I second that Si, this is excellent news.
We will potentially have another table added to the league for the winter league. I am not to sure if it will be there in time for the summer league.
Maybe we should contact Bill Watson to check out the possibility.
Ian - Do you know when they are to receive their table?
