1st match result of Watney Mann
Brewery Tap 3 -2 Albion
Richard Wooton 10,420* – 7,160 Alan Brackenridge Chris Reeves 9,030 – 1,460* Doug Dawson Gareth Lloyd 7,790 – 5,690* Bella Stoner Marc Chipman 0 – 9,450* Jean Brackenridge Nigel Senior 1,840 – 8,240* Kevin Stoner
Albion fight back well from 3-0 down to keep match alive
Game 1 – Richard off early, Alan has two goes at the break to build a 3k lead, but Richard makes winning 9k break.
Game 2 – Doug misses early but Chris fails to take his first chance. He gets another one though and makes no mistake putting the Tap 2-0 up.
Game 3 – A bit of a ding dong between Gareth and Bella, Gareth chasing down a 3k lead in the last 5 minutes to win.
Game 4 – Marc off on only 600, Jean pegs her opening 2k break but gets them back to make 8k. 3-1
Game 5 – Kev starts off with 3k. Nigel gets break back twice only to miss the one up behind both times. Kev takes advantage with two more breaks to make 8k, and keeps the Albion very much in it for their home match.
Return leg 29th June

Cheers for the result Jason
I should have made this clear earlier (to all captains) - but I will need the full results of each match. There are ranking points awarded for people wanting to play in next years Sussex Masters and I won't be award them properly without leg scores.
Posting them on the forum is fine, email me, or through the post.

Schooner 2 Stadium 3
Good if some what noisy night at the Schooner, managed to get first three games played before group started, but much to Terrys` annoyance music struck up halfway through the fourth match. Return being played on Thursday 3rd July.
ONE. Steve Aylmore break against Alan Messer. Steve started off confidently, but got out of position and off at around 2k, both players chased th balls around back of table. Alan got break back but one up behind. Steve built on his lead, and time Alan got break back game was safe. 5520 - 1900 1-0.
TWO. Charlie Cooper break against Arthur Brewster. Charlie started with around1.5k. Arthur got break back, nly to break down at just over 1k. Charlie put himself 1k up, Arthur got break back and put himself in front with bar due, but unfortunately pegged his break to hand Charlie the win. 1600 - 2710 1-1.
THREE. Gina Sherratt on break against Rick Cunningham. Gina opened with 2k, Rick replied with 4.5k and held that lead thoughout. 4820 - 2440 2-1.
FOUR. Terry Molloy against Eric Butler. Terry got to 5k before leaving ball between left hand 20/30 and missing. Eric and Terry then palyed about at the back of the table, before Eric handed the break to Terry with the bar due, Terry started to build winning break only to four time it. Eric took advantage 200 - 850 2-2.
FIVE. Mick Pope break against Bill Kerr. MIck opened with a well worked 6k, Bill had one chance when he got break back, but just as he got going he had a whip out and took the peg. Mock made sure. 410 - 7390 2-3.
All set up for interesting return in a fortnight.

Cheers for the scores Kev.
Please could you check the score for game 3 in match 1 as there is no score for jocko ( I assume he lost as that match was 4-1)
Also is the overall result 6-4 not 7-3 as it looks like you won the home leg 3-2?

Swan B won 3-2 on the night and 7-3 overall....... I think that there is a mistake in the second match with the game scores between Sir Jock and Roger Taylor..... Dipper actually won the game but scores posted show that Jock was the winner. ???
I don't know if scores are simply the wrong way around...... or if the Reaper has a dyslexic keyboard though....!! :o ;D

Well spotted Nigel, and I noticed it too.
Roger beat Jock last night (not the other way round) and from memory (I was scoring it) I think Roger has another 3k to go on.
But it was recorded correctly on the official scorecard, and I have already PM'd Kev to ask him to correct the very things you have mentioned !

How about that then, Nigel, as a response to your query ? THREE people sort it out for you within ten minutes ! ;D
Would just like to echo Reaper's sentiments. Both evenings were greatly enjoyed by margo (spectating) and myself. Glad we made the effort. Last night it was good to see DA-DM make it over all the way from Portsmouth and cosying up to her new fella. ;D ;) ;)
The Swan 'B' are a very sociable team and were worthy winners. They have great players and deserve to have a good run in this competition. Best of luck to them in the next round. 8-)

Sorry Post corrected Sir jock unfortunatly lost both legs. You may want to correct that one as well, Reaper. ;D Before we start referring to him as Douglas Bader. :o The price of defeat, eh ! Next time I turn out for you I'm going to keep well away from that scythe. :o ;D

Brewery Tap relieved to get through last night winning the second leg against the Albion 3-2 for a 6-4 aggregate win.
Albion 2 (4) – 3 (6) Brewery Tap
Doug Dawson 8,540* – 110 Richard Wooton Jean Brackenridge 4,780 – 5,230* Gareth Lloyd Kevin Stoner 1,030 – 5,330* Marc Chipman Alan Brackenridge 7,990* – 450 Nigel Senior Bella Stoner 790 – 11,590* Chris Reeves
Game 1 – Doug made a 2k start, Richard got the break back but left a tricky ball up the middle on 2k, which he potted into the 100 hole, but his next shot went through the peg. Doug then played well to kill the leg with a 5k break.
Game 2 – Gareth off early on first split, hitting it too thick. Jean gets the balls back but misses both balls on first break shot. Gareth settles to make 4k lead, but Jean gets the balls back with 6 minutes to go. She gets to within 200 off Gareth’s score but comes off a ball between the 20 and 30 on the back cushion with the bar down. Gareth crucially clears to prevent the Albion winning their 4th leg in a row, and the Tap now lead 4-3. Game 3 – Marc off with about 1,500, but he gets them back only to repeat Jean’s feat of missing both balls on the break. Kev could not get the break back and when Marc did again he put the game safe with a much more controlled effort and put the Tap 5-3 up..
Game 4 – Alan opened with around 2,000, and added another 1,500 before Nigel got the break back. A thin split by Nigel caused him to come off on only 500 and this was punished by Alan, who put in a winning break to keep the Albion in the game. 4-5
Game 5 – Bella did not give Chris a chance when these two met in the league, but it was Chris’ break this time and he got revenge for that loss with a 7,500 opener. He was fairly faultless, although he did miss one 50-20 split catching the 100 hole, but to Chris’ relief he saw the white go down the 30. Bella missed early in reply but was up against it anyway timewise.
A good match, and had Jean held on to win her game the Albion would have almost certainly made it to a 11th leg. After losing to Alan in leg 4 it was a bit of a relief it didn’t go that far!

Return leg of the Three Horeshoes vs Loci with the Loci 3-2 ahead. H Tunstall 1790 -- 3570 I Lelliot P Olver 1540 -- 4780 M Spier S Beach 1600 -- 5320 M James J Clough 6740 -- 870 K Tunstall D Hampton 280 -- 3680 G Jukes Loci lost 4-1 but could of been very different if Mr H hadn't lost his 4500 break in the last game to take it to 5-5 and then to the decider but it was not to be, great evening in good company.

Scores from the above game, sorry for late post, but prehaps rather ashamed of result and scores, but whilst posting a similarly disgusting Brighton Summer League card thought get both out of the way together.
