Duke of Wellington A 4 Duke of Wellington B 1
Good night at the Wellie with all usual banter.
Dave B 4590 Nick S 3330 Nick caught Dave's opening score so Dave went ahead again and held his nerve to score an important 1st game. 1-0.
But that was nothing compared to what happened next........
Jamie T 2680 John P (Reg) 1870 Leave the details to Reg to explain. But congratulation due to Jamie for winning his FIRST league game. Against an experienced and respected campaigner. 2-0.
Brian B 5090 Tim S 3120 Slow start then Brian put in useful break. Tim just couldn't get break back and Brian moved further ahead to ease to victory. 3-0.
Chris P 3970 Mark S 1600 Just glad to get a win. Scored steadily without making most of break opportunities. Worried when Mark got break back but he pegged on 2k. 4-0.
Roy C 1030 Pete B 1490 Anticlimax after previous events of the evening. Close game though going to last ball. Landlord let us down by failing to complete whitewash 4-1.
Interesting fact. We have won all our matches against div 1&2 teams. Great considering only won 1 home game all last season!
Looking forward to doing battle with Tap A next week at the Wellie. Nigel & Chris R's home Worthing table :-/ :-/ :-/ But we beat them at their place ;D ;D ;D

Brewery Tap 5 – 0 Dyke A
Good 5-0 win for the Tap, which was a bit harsh on the Dyke, as in 2 games they had a 6k lead chased down.
Richard Wooton 7,960 – 6,860* Dave Reeves Chris Reeves 15,380* - 420 Charlie Cooper Gareth Lloyd 7,580 – 4,270* Colin Smith Marc Chipman 4,440* - 1,510 Chris Tupper Nigel Senior 8,050 – 6,970* Mick Winder
Game 1 – Dave made 2k with his opener, and extended his lead to around 6,500 with a 2nd attempt at the break. Richard finally got his go at the break some 12 minutes in and paced himself to victory by around 1,000. 1-0
Game 2 – Chris off early on 2k, but got the break back only to peg 4k on the split. Charlie was having no luck at the back. Chris then killed it with a quickfire 13k break (in around 10.5 minutes)
Game 3 – Colin made 3k to start and then neither Colin or Gareth could seem to get the balls back. Colin seemed to get a big chance when he brought back the last ball in front of the 50, but missed a straight forward in off shot, giving Gareth his chance, which he took with a 7k match winning break. 3-0
Game 4 – The Tap, going for the 5-0, put Marc with the break and he made 3k to start, Tupps got upto his usual 4k but lost them with an unlucky peg. Tupps got 2 more opportunites with the break, but pegged another 1,500 and then came off on the same score, giving Marc the win and 1 4-0 lead
Game 5 – Good game to finish, Mick looked set to make enough getting to 6,500 when he missed a straight 50, when the right hand roll caught him out. Nigel didn’t get them back until 12 minutes in, but made 7,500 before also missing a straight 50. Lucklily for Nigel the bar dropped and Mick was unable to conjure up 800 with the remaining balls. 5-0
Yes Chris it is the Wellie next week, chance for the Tap to gain some revenge, or chance for you to complete a memorable double over us!

Kendal 3 - 2 Montreal
P Witcomb 2360 - bp G Mechan T Martin 1790 - bp S Burns D Richins 840 - 2380 M Barsby C Darvil 1630 - 2170 W Pryor A Witcomb 2330 - 1590 B Mechan
It really says alot when even the home players are suprised if they pot 2 balls off the break. I was a bit annoyed the footy wasn't on as no sky but relieved after watching the high lights, if you can call them that. Looks like second place could be wide open now with anyone of 3 teams in the race. We def have the hardest run in with 4 prem teams in a row but will give it a hell of a go.

Good night at the Horseshoes, and excellent curry and chips to finish. Friendly banter throughout and plenty of chances for either team to have won, Horseshoes proving better on the night.
