Yes, Enjoyable evening,
good company,
some good banter, including some offputting tactics (Warrior-sledging from me, and DA gurning through the window from outside the pub while I was trying to play !)
good food,
great table (with a couple of quirks - but that's ideal for a home table) .......
...........and an 'evening off' from the Quizroom for a good many present. ;D

Hurst B 5 Sportsman 1
John Lear 5280 - 7160 BB Warrior ;D A nice opening 4k break from John gave him a good lead, I managed to get the balls back a couple of times but broke down before finally playing out the last 5 minutes and touching up when the bar dropped. 0-1 ;)
Ian G & Marion Skinner 1910 - 1460 Gary Foster & Pam Peacock A close game with nobody getting going, Ian sinking a last ball red to secure the win. 1-1 ::)
Chris Kirkham 2580 - 2270 DA-DM :'( Chris off to the better start with Colleen finding the pegs attractive before getting a nice 1.5k break to take the lead. Chris managed to get the balls back right at the end to just win a close game. 2-1 :(
Ian G & Steve King 4780 - 1660 Big TJ & Ros A Only Steve really got to grips with the table in this game, doing enough to take the win for the home team. 3-1 :(
Darrell Skinner 6080 - 3180 Trevor A Darrell opened up with a break of just under 5k, Trevor replied with 2.5k with honours about even after that. 4-1 :(
Chris & Darrell 6670 - 4260 Big TJ & DA-DM Chris opened with 2k, TJ replied with 4k only for Darrell to hit another 3k in a well fought match to end the night. 5-1 :(
An enjoyable evening in good company with some close games giving an excellent warm-up for the start of the season...... only 6 sleeps away now Tommo!! 8-) ;)

Young Bobhall had a winning debut for Mid-Sussex B, he started well but then had to win the match on the last ball after Jenny caught him up at the end of the game...!! :o
It was a good warm-up evening for the start of the season this week, plenty of friendly banter (as you would expect with Sir Jock in attendance! ;)) and some close games. 8-)

it's all very well for those who drive a desk all day !!! This is the earliest chance I have to log on I agree Tommo under normal circumstances there is no way I would let the warrior a free practice on OUR table but the Reaper was also in attendance.
I had thoughts of banning sparky as we are due to play new boys USC on Wedneday but it was an interleague friendly & I'm a nice person. A good nights billiards with a score line of 5 to 3 in favor of the promoted ones means that we aint so bad.
The scores on the doors for you keen ones. Sparky 1940 KIng Lear 5640 AFW 6540 Iang 2740 nice 5K break Andy The Reaper 4270 Skippy Jobbins 2410 Paul should have won but binned 3K BBW 9530 Master Bateup 2110 Nice 9200 opening break with no mercy show to interleague virgin pony Tainl guy Derek Taylor 980 Darrell Skinner 2840 Sir Jock 5240 Trevor Rees 3100 Jock should have had more but an attraction for the pegs meant a loss of around 3K ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Peter Edwards 3420 Ros Appleby 1260 Jenny Edwards 2980 Bobhall 3390 Thanks to Lorraine for being the home team & providing a lovelly spread we will return the favour soon XX.
