Tap B 2 - 3 Wellie B
An interesting night on an interesting table.
No scores to hand, but, wins for Nick, Garry and Tim for us. Taxi was the only winner for the Tap as we were one short (it was to far for Pete to travel and Mark was ill).

Three Horseshoes 5 Montreal 0
Comfortable win for the Shoes over the Montreal who had problems getting the pace right on the night.
Kt 7340 v M.Barsby 1150 - left the one up short Mal 2500 v S.Burns 2160 - left the one up short twice, the second time let Mal in to snatch the point at the end. Ian 9710 v G.Mechan 0 - left the one up short Geoff 5780 v P.Robins 1480 - Put break down four times Rick 4740 v B.Mechan 2590 - left one up short
Fantastic curry afterwards with chips, never seen the pot so full. Mal & Rick were in heaven. Rick had to play after his 3 bowlfulls, just as well he made a 3k break early ;) Good laugh with the Montreal boys, no luck for them tonight though. Good luck in the Cup next week :P

Duke of Wellington A 2 -3 Brewery Tap A
Brewery Tap again tested by the Duke of Wellington A, but the Tap came through to stay on the Horseshoes heels though another two legs were dropped.
I will put the scores in later but here is a run down of what happened
Game 1 – Dave Bartrum was never troubled by an out of form Nigel Senior. Dave got the break back a few times and nearly made 5k, I don’t think I made 500 and couldn’t get the balls back on my home Thursday top. 1-0
Game 2 – Chris Reeves certainly wasn’t finding it easy on the top he has made two 20ks this season. He did grind his way to 8k though and beat Stuart Bettles 1-1
Game 3 – Richard was also finding it tough but eventually overcame Brian Bartrum to make it 1-2
Game 4 – Chris Parsons (foamy) made a nice 3k opener and it was only when Gareth got them back near the end that he was able to win to clinch the match by resorting to playing 50s. 1-3
Game 5 – Marc had his chance against Roy, getting the break back a few hundred down with 3 minutes left, but he soon came off and Roy mopped up to complete his personal double against the Tap. 2-3
The two legs dropped by the Tap means it is now impossible for them to win on legs won assuming the Horseshoes win all their games. If the Horseshoes win all their remaining 5 games they will at least win 108 legs and the Tap can only win a maximum of 107 legs by winning their last 4 matches 5-0. It looks like the Tap are relying on a loss by the Horseshoes now to retain the title.

A very good night at the Albion, the match turning on Bill when on around4.5k putting the break down four times. Plenty of banter and all but Jeans excellent game could have gone either way.

Well played Jean. Being on the end of your 14K+ score it was extremely well constructed with two breaks of 6K+ and 8K+ respectively. I did manage 30 but it wasn't quite enough to catch you ;D ;D ;D (oh and I did knock the black over at the end so I got nuffin ::))
