Played at the Dyke on an excellent table. Albion A 1 Windmill 4.
A good evening, and sandwiches laid on by mine host at the end most welcome.
All games even breaks.
Game One. Alan B on first broke down at about 1k. TJ 8k, leaves balls out of position, keeps score. Alan back on break, off at 3k. TJ scores a few more to make sure. 4060 - 9310.
Game Two. Dave A with the break, opens with 3k, Doug D off at just over 1k, Dave knocks in steady 5k to make sure. Doug finishes the time out. 2180 - 8480.
Game Three. Saw both Jean B and Gina S try their hardest not to win. very low scoring on opening breaks, Jean eventually getting the break back towards the end to make sure. 4280 - 2150.
Game Four. A captains innings by Bill K saw him touch up at over 10k, Bella S pegged her opening effort, so game over. 170 - 11650.
Game Five. Sandra R pegged her opener, Rick C opened with around 5k. rick first to get them back and ensure the last went the way of the Windmill. 810 - 8580.
Thanks to the Dyke for hosting us and to the Albion for the usual fun evening. And special thanks to Terry Molloy, who called in on the way to the Tap, causing me much mirth by suggesting that he has never been known to moan??

Wellie B 4 - 1 Wellie A
The Albion was the venue for this Battle of the Boots.
No scores to hand but the games went roughly like this:
Game 1. Dave Bartrum played the best game of his life, scoring 8000+ to beat Mark. 0-1 Game 2. Nick had a small struggle against Stuart, but came out the winner. 1-1 Game 3. The pivotal game saw Pete v Brian. Brian could not get to grips with game. 2-1 Game 4. The Lower Div Singles semi-finalists started really well (Roy 300 followed by Me 320). I managed a 6k break and ended on just over 9500 to win the match . 3-1 Game 5. Jamie and Garry had a knock around. 4-1
Usual banter and giggles all round and now looking forward to the Final.

Good laugh with the dyke last night, only problem was we all went home hungry as apparantly the Tap wasn't aware of there was a game on last night.

TKO Semi Final @ Montreal
Dyke A 0 – 5 Brewery Tap A
Montreal proved to be an excellent table, and the Tap win to keep the league & cup double a possibility
Dave Reeves 700* – 17,260 Nigel Senior Chris Tupper 19,740 – 20,550* Richard Wooton Colin Smith 2,570* - 3,620 Gareth Lloyd Kevin Simmons conceded game to Marc Chipman Mick Winder 4,830* – 8,440 Chris Reeves
Game 1 – Dave off early missing his first split. Nigel made 10k and touched. Further breaks increased his score to 17k.
Game 2 – Game of the season, probably game for many a season. Richard sets new Brighton high score & break with 20,550 run out. Tupps had equal opportunity so pulled the bar to set about that score. He was on target at halfway, but fell slightly behind in the last 4 minutes. His 19,740 was an agonising 810 short, but it was still a magnificent effort nevertheless.
Game 3 – Colin and Gareth couldn’t live up to the previous players exploits. Gareth did enough though to book the Taps place in the final.
Game 4 – Kevin had to go to work so conceded the game to Marc.
Game 5 – A few chances to both players, but Chris came through to make it 5-0

Excellent game no 2 above well done to Richard for the run out, but what an agonisingly great effort by Tupps to fail only by 810 short, Scores indeed suggest table was excellent.
