4 pin bar billiards

Had a great evening in Wellingborough at the Crown and Anchor with our dear friend playing 4 pin.

Have never played this before and was fascinated by trying to work out" the formula shot"could not work it out but had success with our 1 up 50/10 (or 50/30 on a 3 pin table!)

Or is there a link here to the old "ban the oxford shot" thread??
No formula shot!

If there is a copy of the rules anyone could send me and information about how the game is played I would appreciate it.

Glad you enjoyed the game, I was once in touch with the secretary of that league, he used to keep a website, but it seems to have disappeared, and i've forgottten his name :-[

The four pins guard the front four high scoring holes in the same way that the black pin does on the conventional game. It's Bar Billiards Jim, but not as we know it!! ;D ;D

seems the game is a great leveller as the break shot as we know it is a gauranteed peg!

Also the points double after the bar drops leaving a possible 800 last shot.

Played the game on what appeared to be a narrow sams table so I dont know if this is the correct dimension for the table for this game. If it is then it will be difficult to translate this on to our tables. :-/

;D ;D ;DI quite enjoyed playing the 4 pin version, but then i did manage to win a game against mrs honchair (only after she had just beaten me though!!) Great fun for a change but think will stick to 3 pin please! ;D ;D
