What an opening ceremony, then these great athletes from Britain set off as our Olympians did by bringing home four golds on the first day.
Makes you stand up and cheer, we complain about a cold and then look at what these people of character can achieve. The lady from China in the 200mts individual medaly only being over hauled in the lasts few stokes just puts everything into perspective.
God we have so much to be grateful for and should all be inspired by the next 10 days of competition.
Heres looking for a pot full of golds for Britain and second place on the medals table. My hats of too each and everyone of them.

Well have watched in total awe todays events, and more medals for the Brits, some impressive performances from all nations and areas, but for me today was about a 13 year old swimmer who looked totally stunned to have won a medal , let alone a tremendous gold, you cannot take the look of total joy away. Well done Elaenor Simmons you certainly brought a smile and a tear to my face.

Haven`t posted on this for a few days, but haven`t missed any action personally. Toally inspired by the feats of these great athletes from around the world.
Para sports has moved so far forward that it seems that to win many events you need a world record, and how they have been produced. The look on faces says it all about how much it means, prehaps some of our overrated and overpaid sports people could learn a lot, hardly an excuse made of reason for losing except that they personally had not performed to their own expectations.
Again I raise my hat to them all and will stay tuned in right through to the closing ceremonies which are preceded by the marathons. On another thread Tommo mentions sports personalities of the year well I have seen many who deserve that accolade over the past 11 days.
