Mark Burns is moving from guernsey to work in Nottingham.
He would like to know what is his closest league and are there any teams out there looking for players.
He is a good consistant player and has been a valued member of the Breakaway team for the last 3 years.
He hopes to be in Nottingham from the 1st November. He will also be in Jersey for the worlds if anyone wants to judge his abilities first.

He appreciates the offer. He did say if someone wouldn't mind giving him a lift, it may sway him.

Stop teasing, Reaper. ::)
Nottingham is quite a distance away from Northamptonshire which must be the nearest county where bar billiards is played. And you have a fat county called Leicestershire in between.
On the AEBBA rankings list there is a player called Jed Long who swears allegiance to Notts, but as far as we know the only time he plays is in the occasional 'Open'.
So I'm afraid that as far as Mark's move is concerned, it's to a bit of a bar billiards outpost - the equivalent of one of us mainlanders moving to Alderney. :o

My other halfs cousin lives just off J25 of the M1 at Long Eaton, she can get from Thrapston to there in under an hour and vice versa, traffic permitting of course. I do believe that there is a pub near by there with a table in it?

We have found a few pubs in the Nottingham area.
He thinks he is going to try and get to a few pubs on league nights to see where he can get and in what time.

We have found a few pubs in the Nottingham area. Bet you haven't found any with league tables though ! If there is a bar billiards league any closer to Nottingham than Northampton (50 miles) it would be of great interest to us to know about it. :o

Jed Long - he is a mate of mine who I went to uni with and movd to Nottingham a few years ago.
He loves the bar billiards, but only can get down for a few opens due to work. I don't believe he has found a table in Nottingham to play, the bar billiards ltd list suggested there isn't any tables up there

Hi guys, I'm the guy in question!
The Steamboat does have a table, not sure what it's like but it'll be usefull to practise on. The Grove hasn't anymore! I'll just have to introduce people to it!
Cheers for all your help though.
Mark ;D
