Following Henry's fantastic debut score of 16,900 last week at the Laughing Fish......... 8-) ;D
....... I don't know how far the records go back (or how good the memories are of some of the longer standing players!) but I wondered if this was the highest score in the history of the Mid-Sussex League? ???
....... I also wondered, with Nigel playing last week and Sir KT rumoured to be making his debut at Hurst Club tonight...... how long that score will remain the best this season!! :o ;)
Good luck to all playing tonight. ;)

Yes, my team have drawn the short straw and have to face the might of Sir KT tonight.
At least the sandwiches are good at the Hurst. ::)
I would imagine that H's 16,900 is indeed the record score for the Mid Sussex League - it is certainly since I joined it in 1980.
The only player who might have beaten that in days prior to that was Reg Beard: Steve King was playing Mid Sussex in the 1970's and may be able to confirm or deny (as after all, Reg trained him up as a player).

My best was 16,100 about 3 years ago (15,100 break) and I hadn't heard of any previous higher scores so I think H might have got it BUT I COULD BE WRONG ;D

Condolences.
You're playing us next week, and I can promise you that our top will be as honest as I can make it.
And you will have balls available in the tray to test it beforehand on its levelness.
It is a pity that not all teams in the league extend this courtesy, maybe it is about time that the League made it obligatory.

Quite agree tommo. Did this myself tonight, gives people a chance to raise objections before a shot is struck in anger. Shaun.
