Albion A 1 Schooner 4
As usual a great evening at the Albion, plenty of banter, some excellent games, followed by pizza and chips. Thanks to all for hosting, Sandra got a baptism of fire as captain, and Sar don`t make the captains mistake of leaving yourself out too much, youplayed a very good game of doubles at the end and are a valuable asset to your team as a player.
Game One :- Saw Bill Kerr with the break against Doug Dawson. Bill was in excellent form and touched up at just over 10k, with the clock only going 16 minutes, Doug wasm not left much chance. 180 - 10230 0-1.
Game Two :- Jean Brackenridge with break against Dave Anscombe. Jean started with just under 5k, Dave got break back, and proceeded to cut the deficiet, but at the 1.5k point put a ball awkward and to horror of watching team members played a rash shot that took the peg out. Jean sewed the game up despite being in holiday mode. 8710 - 710 1-1.
Game Three :- Gina Sherratt on break against Kevin Stoner. Gina off with 450 leaving both up on 1 up, coming off saying didn`t think it was possible to hit one up to soft. Kevin amassed a break of just under 2.5k before letting Gina back on, Gina got break back and set about winning the game with a 7860 break, touching up as bar went. 2420 - 8310 1-2.
Game Four :- Alan Brackenridge with break against TJ, who was just settling into his chair expecting a wait before a visit, Alan must have definitely been in holiday mode as he missed break. TJ built a break of just under 5k, Alan got the balls back and again TJ settled into his chair, but Alan was far from his usual fluent self and broke down on 2.5k. Tj got another couple of K to make sure. 2870 - 7320 1-3.
Game Five :- Rick Cunningham with the break against Bella Stoner. Rick off early, but Bella could not take advantage. Rick then played a good game, although Bella did have to check the bottom of his shoes on more than one occassion. BP - 7640 1-4.
Must say thought those playing last two games did well to concentrate with the events at the Withdean Stadium being on in the background. Another sporting evening and hope Alan and Jean have a nice break, bet eyelids need proping up at the moment with having to be at airport for 5am.
