Congrats to Sussex `A` on winning the title today.
They defeated Oxford A 3-2, Kent 4-1 & lastly the slight favourites Surrey A 3-2. This was without their number one player Jean Brackenridge who is in Crete on holiday (very inconsiderate) ;) ;D
An excellent day for Lady H :-*, winning all 3 games, beating Jan Taylor(6440-3120) & Jenny Abbott(4770-4420) in the process. Two wins each for Bella, Gina & Jan, one for skipper Lorraine, but it was a crucial one against Surrey.
Oxford `B` took the Div 2 title on countback after tieing with Surrey `B`.
Sussex `B`put up a good fight in a very open contest, finishing just one point behind in third.
Kent were relegated from Div 1.

Well played all of you............. also well played the B Team who finished just 1 point behind Oxford B in division 2.

As a spectator and sometime scorer ( along with Bill Kerr ) may I say what a great day it was well done to the A`s on anexcellent achievement, the B`s did themself justice adn so easily could have won, as three games were lost on the 100 hole.
Special congrats to Hayley who played well all day and won all three of her legs. Good team spirit with all getting behind their team mates, and nice to see that Sussex ladies played within the spirit of the game and put their heads down and play the tables to the best of their abilities without joining the moaners, prehaps they should learn to adapt and take up the challanges set by the tables.
Well done to Dave on a well run day, I look at the scores attained on the tables by the All England representatives and can only say all tables were playable and it was up to the combatants to adapt. As he rightly says if you have construtive ideas of how to better the set up attand the AGM in December and put them forward for all to discuss. Enough on that now as it really takes away from what was an enjoyable day.

It was a great day, and even better for winning it, well done to all the players great team effort 'A' & 'B's .
I would like to thank TJ & Bill for all their scoring, which took a lot of pressure off us, also thanks to them both & KT for all their support and encouragement.

I really enjoyed my first outing :) Congrats to the A team on winning Div 1 and to Hayley for getting a clean sweep! 8-) hope you all had a fun filled day in sunny reading It was sunny too, I went for a nice walk at lunchtime :) But the best of 'sunny Reading' was sitting outside on a glorious morning having breakfast at the Gorge cafe - why hasn't anyone told me about this wonderful establishment? I'd have been playing in the Berks open if I'd known about it! :o ::) ;D |
