We kick off the new season tomorrow night.
We have been making the most of owning the tables.
Plough and Harrow Tilmanstone was recovered by Bar Billiards and has now been brought up to scratch with the slate braced flat and the cushions properly attached.
The dreaded Market Inn table, formerly the worst in the league is now in excellent condition and running beautifully.
The Brickies has had the slate swapped for one of Sav's, the cushions properly attached and is now playing well.
The Two Sawyers has been completely refurbished with new cushions and recovered to the highest standards and has been equipped with one of Sav's former interleague lights. It's as good a table, if not better than, the Betteshanger Club.
Look after them and enjoy them and we'll continue to improve the tables.
Early indications on table revenue are that, disasters permitting, we should be solvent and all sponsors paid in two years time. After that it is anticipated that all league entry fees will be abolished and the league will be funded entirely by table takings. We should be able to heavily subsidise presentation night and still have funds for other projects or local good causes.

Well done to Dover and Deal, and all the work done by Chris. Sounds as though if all keeps falling into place that things look good for the future. Along with Surrey looking as though their plans are coming together, there is life after bar billiards limited. Other leagues are following suit and personally think it is only good for the future if leagues own tables and do not have to depend on outside suppliers.
Lot of worked invovled in setting things up, but hope those involved are feeling the satisfaction that that work shouldnow reap. Tony.
P.S good luck to all in the coming season and look forward to reports on matches throughout.

Thanks Guys,
Discovered a disadvantage to this work last night, Two Sawyers table was a dog that I completely refurbished and braced a couple of weeks ago.
Before the work I was one of the only players that could play it and had some good wins on it. Last night it played a treat, but I got drawn against their best player against the break and got hammered!!

Just think what you are going to do when luck smiles on ou and gives you the break. On the serious side at least goes along with all your principles about tables being the best they can for all to play on a fair and level surface.
